Great for aquatic plants, but not shrimp safe!
Let me preface this review by saying that I don't consider this a bad product, just wanted to provide this info for anyone else that might need it. I purchased this organic soil to make Walstad dirted shrimp tank, which I understand is not the intended use-case of this product. I established the tank for two weeks with the soil and all the plants before introducing the shrimp. I'll say that the soil works great for the purpose of supporting aquatic plants and the fauna that tagged along with them (snails, worms, bacteria, etc). If you simply wanted to create an aquatic aquarium then I'd say this product will work for you. However, when I introduced the shrimp they really struggled in the tank. Constantly at the water's surface even with water changes and checking all the parameters. After losing a few shrimp I transferred them to another container that just had some fresh RO water and fluval stratum and they perked right up. Based on my researched I've read that some topsoil blends just don't play well with shrimp and their sensitive water needs, so I wanted to put this out there for anyone that comes along.

Good soil mix but a bit pricey
This is a nice soil mix that I used for potting a couple of plants and topping off the soil on a couple of others. It's a bit more expensive than most, but a good product.

Great Organic Solution To Your Indoor Gardening
This Espoma potting mix is a great option for those looking for a non-fertilized soil option. I needed a soil that wasn't Miracle-Gro as that seems like the only product sold at Home Depot. I've found Miracle-Gro to be full of mold, or bugs in more than a few bags, so I only use Espoma at this point. This stuff looks "clean", and feels as natural as soil can feel. It works great for regular house plants; all the plants that I have potted with this are doing well and looking healthy. Don't forget to have a drainage hole on your planters, otherwise your plants could easily be over-watered. This soil can also be used for terrariums. For any enclosed terrariums I would recommend mixing it with their Espoma 4-Quart Organic Cactus Mix , for a more airy mixture (in a 2:1 cactus/potting soil ratio), that will help with airflow and a self-sustaining water cycle. Espoma has multiple sizes for this product: • Espoma 4-Quart Organic Potting Mix (this product) • Espoma 8-Quart Organic Potting Mix • Espoma 16-Quart Organic Potting Mix • Espoma 2 Cubic Feet Organic Potting Mix I ended up buying this several times as this can be used up pretty quickly. I do recommend ordering a lot bigger than you may actually need so you end up saving money. Recommended.

Worked great for starting seeds & No bugs *UPDATED*
I used this mix for the first time and I am happy with the results so far. I started radish seeds and sweet peas that were left over from last year on Sunday and on Monday several had already sprouted. I cannot say for sure that it is the soil, but I am using the same high output T5 fixtures for lighting, the same trays, and the same seeds and they are sprouting faster than last year. There were no pests visible with the eye or with a 30x magnifier that I could find. Thrips and other pests have been a problem with several other brands. Super happy. Update- About 2 weeks after first opening and using the soil the second batch of seedlings had a much lower success rate and there were some that developed mold on them. This is probably due to spores in the air, but I would recommend using it all at one time to avoid this. I still think it is a great product.

Espoma Mix the Best Potting Soil I Have Used
I bought a couple bags of this Espoma organic potting mix after seeing a gardner's blog about how good it is, and finding it here on Amazon. She was right. I was using a different brand for years for my house plants, and the soil always dried out in the winter within two days even though it was an all purpose mix. As soon as I received the Epsom bags I changed the potting mix in all of my pothos hanging baskets. Same plants and containers just new soil. Four days later and the soil is not dried out like the other product. This soil mix held the moisture nicely for three days so the plant could take it up, and is now getting lighter so the roots can breath. I just purchased more to put in my outdoor containers for spring plantings. Says it has myco-tone for stronger roots so that's a plus. Great price. Glad I found it on Amazon.

Tiny bag
All of their products are excellent and usually worth the price, but I was trying to price shop and it didn’t list the size. So like a fool when it said nine cents an ounce, I ordered four of them and spent $50 for probably not enough soil to fill up even one nice pot. They lowered the price a bit since. I don’t understand why Amazon doesn’t make them list the the size for comparison
