Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Hydrating Lip Butter Balm

I have multiple reviews for the Sol de Janeiro lip balm. This is the only thing I buy for my lips so I will probably have a number of reviews for this item. It’s not waxy and it’s not too runny and perfectly hydrate your lips. They made the perfect combination cupacao butter and coconut oil. Not heavily scented and this is a fatty style tube. I use this thing all the time even people at work tease me because that’s all they ever say in my hand. I do love when they run a special and have the price discounted a little because my habit with this lip balm can get kind of expensive but no matter what I will always buy them

So basically, my friend had this lip balm and showed me it and I was like: wow! That smells amazing and that makes your lips shiny. So, I bought myself this Brazilian kiss sol de Janeiro lip balm. I know it’s a chapstick for almost 20 bucks but it’s worth every single penny. I think you should buy this because it’s super moisturizing and smells amazing. Came in perfect condition no damage. For anyone complaining about the amount of product in this... this lip butter contains 6.2 grams. A traditional Chapstick brand lip balm in a tube and even Blistex at the drugstore has 4.25 grams. The lip butter tube is a lot wider than Chapstick, so it appears to have less product when really it contains more than what you’d typically get for a lip balm in a swivel tube. Of course it’s more expensive, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise if you choose to buy a lip balm at Sephora (I purchased mine off Amazon because it’s slightly cheaper), and I don’t feel it should be rated any less just because of the price. If you want a lip balm that simply gets the job done, there are plenty of affordable options at the drugstore. This smells absolutely amazing and leaves your lips feeling silky smooth. It also leaves a nice shine, so I love layering it on top of liquid lipsticks for added hydration and a subtle gloss. I have really full lips that tend to get chapped quickly, so lip balms are a must for me but I prefer a thicker formula like the Bite Agave Lip Balm. I know some people say that one is too thick, but I find I have to apply less whereas with the lip butter, I’m constantly applying (but I don’t mind cause it smells and makes my lips feels so good!). If this was a bit richer/thicker, I’d give it a 5/5. However if you don’t like an extremely thick formula and don’t mind fragrance in your lip balms, you’d really enjoy this!!

I am absolutely obsessed with this product. It has a toasty, buttery, honey toffee smell that is absolutely divine and I cannot get enough of it. And it's one of the best moisturizing lip products I've ever used. I've only been using it for a week (I apply it before I go to bed) and am already seeing a huge difference. I had been using cocoa butter vaseline, but that only ever seemed to just sit on top of my skin, but not provide any real moisture. This stuff soaks in immediately, and leaves a soft, silky balm on my lips. I will definitely get a few more tubes to keep with me throughout the day! Also, whoever said that the tube is the size of a cardboard toilet paper roll is seriously exaggerating. It is noticeably larger than a traditional chapstick tube, but certainly not unreasonably huge, and I don't find it inconvenient at all from an application perspective.

I am absolutely a chapstick girly. Not the brand chapstick, but I have hundreds, literally hundreds of different lip balm, chapsticks, lip butters, etc. And none of them ever actually repair the dryness in my lips. This one does. It's expensive, that's true, but I don't think I can ever use another chapstick after this one. My lips feel smooth even after this has long since worn off and it healed a split in my lower lip.

This lip butter is wonderful! I have extremely sensitive skin and am prone to eczema around my mouth, and this keeps my lips so moisturised and smooth without irritating my skin at all. I was a bit put off by the price initially, but having used it, I would not hesitate to buy it again. It's definitely worth the price! It smells so gorgeous and I love that it's not your average tiny little lip balm tube. I will definitely be buying this again.
