You Need This
This book was the only book I actually used for any of my color schemes. It was invaluable. I used it for interior and exterior projects. The other color books are a joke. The key is for the main color you are working with they will have the analogous, triadic etc color schemes that will work with the main color you want. Their combinations are numerous and have color combos that I would not think of and it actually works! Fantastic resource and any interior decorator or interior designer needs this on their reference library. Their color combo circles are a bit small and I wish the book was much bigger in size. Just a great resource.

An excellent guide for color relationships and schemes
This book is a treasure of color schemes and color guides, especially for the beginning or amateur decorator/designer. It walks you through color theories and tons of color schemes. Personally, I bought it because the cover really appealed to me (I'm surprised by the number of design/color books that have unattractive or unappealing covers.) As you can see, the cover is colorful and organized--and these features (color and organization) definitely sum up this book. Whether you are into graphic design or home decorating, this book would be a helpful addition to show you how colors relate with each other. Highly recommend!

Inspirational for all artists, designers, and crafters!
I bought this as a gift for my mom, and she absolutely loves it! I looked through it myself and it's a really great book. I think it's a little easier to peruse than the colourlovers website, because it's organized very well. I'd say if you're a designer, crafter, or artist, this book is a must for finding really interesting color combinations. There are combinations you'd never think would work, but they do.

Exceptionally Average Book - Pass On This One!
Before I purchased this, I read the reviews warning against the purchase. Many people encouraged visiting the website for color palette ideas (because the ones in this book are available there). What I like is that it's nice to have a quick reference, if you're in need of inspiration. Sure, you can find that on the internet, but how long will it take you to sift through everything. At least in book form, you have these categorized by the main color in use and then by what type of color-scheme you're after (analogous, complementary, etc.). It also comes with a handy cd that allows you to download these swatches for convenient use in your Adobe programs.Overall, I still find it underwhelming. While this book is not in any way a bad idea, it's almost like they took the most popular user-submitted swatch combinations from Adobe Kuler (Adobe Color) and compiled them into one book. The thing is, anyone can submit a color combination, and not all of them have a practical purpose. Some of them are just plain bad.So.. what could have been a nice, convenient tool is really nothing more than a piece of my library that is now collecting dust. It's not awful. It's just unbearably average in every way.

Conceptually awesome - printing does not always translate well to web screensd - great resource regardless
I love the concept of this book. It's worth the money if just for the format and the ideas of color combos. I make abstract digital art and using the CD in this book to grab color ideas was a huge help. The book is organized very well in color groups. It's a great mind-jogger book for those who like to design and create. I appreciate the HEX color values along with the CMYK and RGB. I have found that some of the palettes do not translate onto a web screen or Adobe Illustrator project the same way the book has them portrayed and printed. But still, conceptually I love the book and the ideas. The CD makes things very easy. Great, economical book of palette ideas. Not all palettes are great - subjective opinion of course - but I appreciate the work in this book and the spiral bound format. Works great next to my easel or iMac. One star off because of the print / web differences. Seems the print is typically darker than anything that shows up on my screen or in my work. I'm learning to account for a bit of that.

Color combination images very small
The media could not be loaded. Was hopping it would show bigger color swatches. Image on advertisement does not show the inside of the book so didn’t realize the color combinations were so small. They are the size of a quarter. Definitely not for trying to match paint colors you have on hand

Great for any art and craft projects!
I bought this to get ideas for making soap and I love it. It's easier to use than the color design websites. It's handy to have it right there while i'm making soap to try to match the colors of the raw soap to the book. It's well organized and has a lot of inspiring for any art and craft projects.

The go-to extensive and simply to use resource
My 12 y.o. uses this to pick the palette for his daily drawings. It’s one of his standard tools, always open on his desk, and he says it’s really helped make his drawings more dynamic and interesting. He appreciates that the book is simple to use as a reference and has an extensive set of palettes. I bought him two recommended books on color palettes and this is the only one he uses.
