I broke my foot and ankle the day after Christmas. Pro tip: never break anything around the holiday’s because Hospitals are packed. So while I was held captive for 12 hours and got confirmation that yes, my foot was broken, I did some shopping. This was one of the first things I purchased for this journey. I’m so glad I did! We had no idea how any of this was going to work since the condo we live in (is tiny) is not set up to house a disabled person. Getting in and out of the tub is still one of the most terrifying things to do in this new everyday life. I am a fall risk to boot, so to make things easier I shower once every 3-5 days, depending. I was in the military so this is no different aside from the fact I’m a lot cleaner laying on the couch or in the bed. “Field showers” in between actual showers keep me from stinking so woohoo. Thanks for that knowledge military (lol, we’d also call them baby wipe baths). This was to make it easier on my husband who has a demanding job, is doing all the household chores now, most of the cooking, and taking care of me. He is constantly concerned I’m going to fall, and he is right to worry since my balance is off. I was not a good candidate for a broken foot, that’s for sure. Woohoo. I digress. The point is, this was such a smart purchase because once it’s on, I don’t have to worry about it, and my focus is on getting in/out of the tub safely. The opening stretches a lot and my husbands only challenge is getting the stretchy dry suit material around the bend in my foot. He gathers up as much as the material as possible (like you’re about to put panty hose on or something) and put it over my foot the best he can. Since my ankle is broken as well he can’t twist or turn my leg without it being slightly uncomfortable for me for a few seconds, but I live each time so it’s not a big deal. I honestly don’t think any product is going to be without some challenge or some discomfort, and this is minimal for us. He’s very careful to get it as close to the bend as possible, he regroups it and then slides it up my leg. I hope that makes sense. It’s easy to use once it’s on. Just make sure that dry suit material is flat against your skin (it’s like sticky rubber on the inside do it’s just glued to your skin making an excellent seal), and you’re ready. I only use it to shower and there is nothing in there for it to snag on. There is a lot of extra material at the bottom near the toes, but that’s okay, your leg should just be out in front of you, out of the way so extra material is okay for now. If I try to stand to take a shower (I am not at that point in my recovery yet) I would say pull that excess up so you don’t step on it with your other foot. Excess is not a bad thing! Just something to be aware of. I also highly recommend getting a shower stool. My husband purchased one for me and it has helped immensely. I get on it like I get on my knee scooter. I put my knee down on the stool, get my good foot in the tub, stand up, turn around, sit down. Bobs your uncle. Ready for a shower. TLDR: good product, does it’s job, keeps your foot/cast dry, dry suit material at the top for snug but comfortable fit, excess material but that’s okay! If you’re purchasing one of these I hope your recovery goes without hiccup. It gets better. It’s hard, but it gets better.

After breaking my ankle, daily showers became a challenge. This leg cast cover completely solved that problem. The silicone seal fits snugly around my leg without feeling tight, and it truly keeps the cast dry—no leaks at all, even during long showers. The material feels soft yet durable, and it’s easy to slide on and off, even when balancing on one foot. The cover also dries quickly and doesn’t have that plasticky smell typical of some waterproof protectors. I’ve used it daily for over a month, and it still looks brand new. It’s much thicker and more comfortable than the flimsy covers sold in pharmacies.Overall, it’s a lifesaver for anyone with a leg injury. A must-have if you want to keep your cast safe and your shower routine stress-free.

So relieved to have found this! Wrapping a garbage bag around your leg just isn't workable for a solid shower time. This thing worked exactly how I hoped it would. Was able to take my normal shower and when I took the cover off no water had seeped through. The opening to the cover was able to go over the cast and still go to a snug fit around my calf. I don't know the longevity of this since I've only used it once so far but I'll find out soon enough. I definitely recommend this
