Have you ever stayed at a hotel in France (or Europe) and loved the scent of their soap? Having honeymooned in France, I was on the lookout for a soap that could remind me of those soaps I enjoyed there. Enter La Chatelaine. Made in France. Natural and organic. Made of shea butter. And a choice of luxurious scents! I have tried the Bourbon Vanilla scent before, but my personal choice is the Blue Ocean scent, which makes me feel like I am back in Provence near the Mediterranean Sea... The soap bar itself is HUGE, meaning that it is going to last for you awhile. It suds nicely, keeps my skin clean and soft, and is effective as far as soaps go - no surprise! It might not be the cheapest, but if you want a little something special for your daily showers or baths, I highly recommend you try out one of these soaps!

Our extended family are all fans of La Chatelaine soaps since I was fortunate enough to find some in a fancy gift shop on vacation. They have two lines, ladies and mens. I was so happy with the orange blossom I originally bought that I mail ordered enough for everyone as Christmas gifts. The men’s are a better buy as they are 30% larger and only 20% more, they last a really long time. The vanilla is the best of the men’s scents. Sandalwood is great but the brown soap can leave a film on the tile. It cleans up easily though. The orange blossom remains my favorite but we switch them around. I have never used a soap which has such luxurious lather, leaves such beautiful scent, and never causes irritation, and I have tried many pricey soaps. Worth every penny, a bar lasts a full month with two people showering daily.

These soaps lather nicely and the other feminine scents are nice. However, I ordered the Vanilla Bourbon thinking it was just vanilla since it said unisex... it's very old school masculine and not vanilla at all in the simple note sense. Plus it is colored and leaves brown drips all over the white sink as if you had gardened so you have to actively think about rinsing/wiping that away. I gave it to a neighbor, too strong and tobacco/leather/earthy.

The French milled soap is expensive but definitely worth it. The bar is beautifully made and large. The fragrance is not overpowering and the soap works great on face or anywhere on your body.

I bought this to try it out and while it wasn't anything special it was good smelling but for the price I don't know if it was worth just a smell

This soap is a true luxury to use. First off, the size is huge (see photo for comparison) and heavy! This is going to last forever. I ordered the Vetiver Cedar scent and it's a very warm, soft scent that's not too overpowering. I have dry sensitive skin and noticed the soap was really hydrating too! Looking forward to trying the other scents, might even get the set as a gift to myself.

This is the best soap I’ve ever used. It lathers well, leaves my skin feeling moisturized, and the smell is amazing. My wife loves the way I smell after I use it, never fails to snuggle up close and breathe deep! Gents, go for it. You’ll be glad you did.
