Good for premanufactured home heaters.
Glad you had it, neither Lowe's or Home Depot had it, and putting a higher wattage element would had caused electrical problems. I installed it a year ago.

Nice to have hot water
This heating element works like it should not problem

They work great but double check your seal
I received them very quick. Installed them and about a day and a half later the seal popped out a little and started spraying the inside of the electrical area popping the breaker. Fixed the seal(just readjusted it) reattached the wire followed the process dried it as best I could. Then turned the breaker on and it started sparking and fried the thermostat on the top. Replaced that because I happened to have one dried completely, now no problems they work great! Learn from me and just double check your seals.

Serves its purpose well!
I utilized this element in a bit of a different manner, instead of running it off of 240 AC, I tied it to a set of solar panels that make 220 DC. They only make 1100 watts but the resistance of this element (this was attempt #3) matched my panels perfectly! On a good day my 40 gallon tank will make 190 degree water! That equates to almost 80 gallons of usable water with no grid electricity or gas!

3-1/2 year review
3-1/2 years and going strong. I have very hard water and need to wet-vac the deposits out once a year, but no probs with the elements other than YOU NEED TO DITCH THE GASKET and use a conventional rubber one. The ones supplied WILL fail. Just get regular ones before the install and all will be well.

Exactly the part we needed to repair our electric water heater. So nice to be able to get parts without leaving home.

The first element I tried for my homebrew setup started flaking and turned black after the initial cleaning run, so far this element has held up perfectly and has plenty of power to bring everything to a nice rolling boil, will probably buy a spare or two as it seems these good ones are hard to find at my local hardware stores.
