Good tool and good value.
I pondered this purchase for a while. I finally pulled the trigger and I am glad I did. I use and Android device and keep it in my front pocket. The tag registers just fine through my case and the pants. The tags themselves don't seem to be as fragile as some have reported. Perhaps that was an older production? Setup was simple. Like anything else, you have to get in the habit of registering the club before you hit. It keeps score for you pretty easily. A great benefit is that data. It is enlightening to see how far you really hit the certain clubs. I found I was a little longer on some clubs than I thought and the club adjustment has helped me play much smarter with my wedge selection. I am not a low handicap golfer so all help is welcome. The phone app itself is really good. I used it without the tags before anyway. The premium upgrade adds to the value as well with all of extra data and club suggestions. I have recommended to a few friends already.

Easy to track your shots and play each round!
The tags are really easy to install on most standard sized grips. The app is very easy to use and has useful course maps that help you quickly measure your shot distances, distance to the green, distance to hazards, etc. You never need to charge the tags- just setup once with the app and go out & enjoy the course. It takes about 1-2 minutes to label each club brand/name/grip that you use, so it's best to do at home for a stress-free experience. Make sure NFC is on when you use the tags and GPS is on when you're on the course. Integrats great with a Samsung phone and Samsung watch. Depending on your phone model & case, you may need to remove the case to have the tags properly read on your phone. Practice a few times when you're assigning the tags to find the right spot on your phone for NFC and remember to use the same spot when you're on the course - you will be much happier with the experience! Once you are familiar with the process, it's super quick and easy. The statistics on the app for each club are really great to understand club gapping, especially the more rounds you play.

Nice product but
This basically just records which club you use and the gps location. When you then tag a different club it assumes that is how far you hit the ball. If you miss tagging a club it doesn't know, so can end up with a 500 yard shot. WOW! It summerizes your distance for each club. nice features. But the tags seldom worked with my phone in my pants. Despite what the videos show. It was a pain to have to take my phone out and fumble to get the tag to read. I just did even try after a few holes. I was there to play golf. So I bought a waist holder for the phone. Now I use my left hand to turn the phone and right to put the club, at the correct angle, to read. The sound when it reads is barely noticable so you have to look at the screen. Doing this I got the reliability to about 90%. But the other 10% is a pain. Also it uses battery. Iphone X fully charged was at 25% after 3 hour round. So nice product, but you have to fiddle with itl and have your phone fully charged.

When they work they are great.
I really like using them, a couple of recurring problems. 1. Occasionally it starts recording shots all over the score card, and unless you are watching the phone you miss it and then have a mess to clean up. 2. I have had these less than a month, already two have broken off the base. I found one and reglued it back on, the other got lost on the course. They give you a couple of extras, but at this rate, with only 2 weeks of golfing gone and 2 breaking off, they won't last the year. I emailed them for advice, or a way to help baby them (should I tape them down for instance), but they never responded to my query. When it works it is great. They seem to work great for the first few holes, but then the performance degrades (slower to read the NFC in the app, moves holes mid hole, etc.) My guess is there is some sort of memory leak in the app (I am using Android), which this behavior would suggest considering it is designed to be running for 4-5 hours, which is difficult for apps. It is also mildly annoying that if you get a call or text while the app is running it is almost impossible to get it, the app does everything it can to avoid letting you move to another app, even if it is to answer a call. Maybe they are just trying to protect my golf time. I would give it 5 stars if they didn't break off so easy and if the app was more reliable. ------------------------ Update: ok, the day I put out the review I get an email from them saying they will replace the two broken tags no problem. They have a 90 day warranty for this type of thing they say and those tags must have just had some bad glue. I will continue with using them and hope the app matures. Interested to see how the golfpad link works. I do dig the app and the ease of recording data.

Golf sensors
The Golf Pad Sensors are a fantastic tool for golfers looking to improve their game. They’re easy to install, lightweight, and pair seamlessly with the Golf Pad app. Shot tracking is automatic and highly accurate, while the app provides real-time GPS and detailed stats for performance analysis. The sensors have long-lasting batteries and don’t add bulk to your clubs. The app’s features, like strokes gained and a virtual caddie, are excellent for reviewing and refining your game.

Wanted to love, disappointed
I wanted to love these golf pads. I guess I loved the IDEA of being able to track my shots and yardage easily. When my package arrived, I could easily tell that this box of pads had been returned because the label on the whole front of the box had been peeled off (see pic). I decided to go ahead and give it a whirl although I had a feeling that I should just return for a replacement. It was easy enough to attach the pads to my clubs, download the app and register each pad associated with the particular club. The trouble began when I attempted to scan the club to start golfing. I don’t normally carry my phone with me so I tried to scan the club and walk to my ball. I took my shot then drove to where my ball landed expecting to scan the next club thus recording the distance of the first one only to find out that not only did it not scan (I heard the little ding indicating that it had and felt a vibration on the phone also indicating it had) but I had a notification that I have to open up a webpage. I assumed I did it incorrectly so I attempted again. That time it worked so I had hope. I got all the way to the green and scanned my putter. So I should have had a score of 6 on a par 5 - but alas it only kept the last three shots out of the six. On the third hole, my husband was getting frustrated that I was messing with my phone trying to figure out why the app isn’t working so I decided then that these pads were more trouble than they were worth. I could not possibly spend that kind of time with an app or pads while playing on league. After the round, I came home, removed the pads, reboxed them and returned to Amazon.

It's like having a caddy
Got it! Here’s a simpler, closer-to-your-voice version: I picked up a few GolfPad tags at the golf show. Now, with my new clubs, I wanted to tag them all. This is great tech—GolfPad really nailed it. My handicap usually sits between 9 and 12, depending on a lot of things, and having my swing tracked by GolfPad actually helps me understand why. There’s a lot I could say about it, but here are the top three things I love: 1. It’s super easy to track my distances without taking my phone out of my pocket. 2. Setting things up is a breeze. 3. The amount of data is incredible. I can spend hours looking into the numbers. I don’t spend a lot on golf gear, but this is something I should have gotten a long time ago. It’s definitely helping me improve my game, track my averages, and keep my handicap steady. I love it.

Great product! however..
I've been using this for several rounds now and getting used to using it properly, I had some issues setting up the app on the course for the first couple rounds. I wish there are some video tutorials clearly explain details for setting up pinning/un-pinning, disabling system preference locking feature. Also I still tend to forget tagging clubs right before and after each shots/putts when I'm focusing on them. I still miss tagging about half of my shots during a round, and sometime just gave up on them because it feel distracting the game when I realize taggings were missed, and thinking I would loose the record accuracy caused by them. The product itself is GREAT and I still love it so far, I'll try not to forget tagging but I'm afraid it'll take manay more rounds to get fully used to. It's probably crazy hard, but I wish it would be much better, if somehow the app can detect proximities of the tags and take the closest single tag(club) to the phone(app) automatically for the user who forget to tag, and maybe even ask to confirm after each hole.
