I just installed these about a week ago and they fit perfectly. The hood of a friends 2001 F150 now lifts easily and stays open while performing maintenance. They installed quite easily even though there were no instructions included in the box. They appear well made, but time will tell. The price was fair and they met my needs.

Inexpensive, easy to replace, and reliable. Just as good as OEM parts for a fraction of the cost. You can’t beat these parts!

Working very well,hood is staying up

Very affordable and fit right. Popped them in and now my truck hood stays up great. Easy to install, and seem durable. A quality item.

I have a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup that has been maintained in impeccable condition. But over time, things like the hood struts have given way. While my OEM struts would keep the hood of the truck open 90% of the time, it was when I was working under the hood that they would give way, and the hood would crash down on me. I found these on Amazon and, following the included directions, was able to remove my old struts with minimal effort. Within under five minutes from the time I opened the hood to start, the new struts were easily installed, and now my hood opens and stays open with the same reliability as my OEM equipment. For the cost, this purchase is a no-brainer.

Fit my truck fine and still holding up after 6 months

If you're like me and have old struts on your hood that have worn out and resulted in the hood falling on your head, then you probably need to replace them. I had never installed hood struts before and it took me all of 5 minutes. There is a good video on youtube showing how to do it. These struts fit my 2000 F-150 and they should fit any 10th gen F-150 or Expedition (1997-2003). The advertisement says it will fit up to a 2006 model, and I have no reason to doubt that. But I can personally verify it will fit 1997-2003. Installation: Basically all you do is take something small and pointy. I found a full sized flathead screw driver was too big, so I used a pair of scissors I had lying around. First start with the top of the strut (closest to the cab) and put the end of your tool into the little tab and pull outward until the little metal clip is released. From there it pops off. To get the bottom off, just pull with your hands. To install the new ones, all you do is press them on the little ball joint. That's it, you're done. I just installed mine today and they pop the hood right up with no effort and have stayed up. Granted, I have not tested them for longevity, but if they last a couple years, it is definitely worth the price. Good luck.

Ok most strut installations are fairly simple but with these struts the hole in the plastic is smaller than the ball they go over. Have a hamer ready for installing these.
