Very neutral flavor (may be good for cats)
I haven’t used this long enough to know if it works, but it’s a lot easier than other toothpastes to apply to my cat’s teeth for two reasons: it’s thick, and it smells like nothing. One of my cats loves toothpaste from other brands. He will be so enthusiastic about trying to eat it that I can’t get any on his teeth. This one he tolerates but doesn’t register it as a treat, so he’s extremely disappointed when I use it but this allows me to actually brush his teeth at all. My other cat hates all toothpaste including this one, but it seems to be neutral enough that she lets me put it on her teeth without foaming at the mouth in disgust, so again it actually makes it onto her teeth and stays there for more than a second. The consistency seems to help the paste stay intact until it’s applied, rather than soaking into the toothbrush bristles like others I’ve tried. Anyway, the best cat toothpaste is the one you can actually use, so this is great for me.

If my doodle had opinions, this would be her pick.
Petsmile is the preferred toothpaste for my goldendoodle’s dental routine – not that my goldendoodle has a refined understanding of dental products. It’s VOHC approved, which gives me confidence that it’s actually doing something beyond tasting good. I do switch between this and a few others occasionally, just to keep things interesting. Brushing is easy, there’s no resistance, her teeth appear clean and well-maintained.

Helps with tartar
My dog seems to be ok with the taste. This is my second order. I needed the larger size, but out of stock

Excellent product that removed brown film off the teeth.
These toothpaste is excellent! My dog had brown discoloration on a couple of teeth on each side of the mouth, even with nearly daily brushing. I tried "Paw science dental wipes", baking soda, vinegar, vinegar with baking soda, gentle scraping with dental scraper, dental treats, raw bones, "Beaphar" toothpaste, "Arm and Hammer" toothpaste, with and without charcoal and "Vet's Best" toothpaste. Nothing worked and I was mentally preparing myself for the professional teeth cleaning just because of these 4 teeth. Then I bought "Petsmile" toothpaste. Brown film is already mostly gone in less than a month! Somebody here posted a photo of before and after. Believe them! Works like a charm on my dog too. And my beauty enjoys the chicken flavor and never minds tooth brushing.

Good product
This toothpaste is not sticky; does have gritty texture is keeping my dogs teeth clean after being cleaned professionally. I use this every evening to brush her teeth. This is the third brand I’ve tried and I like it the best. My dog likes the flavor. 😊

My dogs love this toothpaste!
Both dogs love this stuff - both the chicken and London broil flavors. Two 30 pound spaniels happily sit and wait for their tooth brushing every night. I actually use sponge mouth swabs (not the super silly little things Petsmile sells - but a similar concept). Dampen the sponge mouth swab with warm water and put small dabs of the Petsmile toothpaste on all sides. I let them lick the little bit from my finger. Then by lightly pinching the back of the mouth and sliding the swab in, I brush back and forth and up and down, side to side. Then each dog licks the sponge swab to get the last but of flavor off the sponge. This stuff is magical.

Cat wouldn't use it
This is for the rotisserie chicken flavor (supposedly). First off, the price seems excessive, but I figured that the product volume vs no. of uses would be worth it. I peeled off the foil seal and let my cat sniff and taste a bit off his nose. He sniffed it, licked a bit once from the foil, shook his head, and quickly left. Unfortunately, opened products can't be returned, so it will just go to waste and go in the garbage eventually. I feel bad wasting both the product and my money. With his reaction, I gave it a smell (no taste test obv), and it smelled like NOTHING. I have a very sensitive nose and I couldn't detect ANY odor from it. I'm not positive that it even is flavored. I also think that making a vegan "meat flavored" product for carnivores and omnivores is ridiculous. If you don't want to consume animal products, personally, that's your choice as a human, but your pets are different. What the heck did they flavor it with instead of animal products? What odorless chemical? Why does it have no smell? I will generously give it 3 stars b/c I couldn't actually try it on my cat to judge the effectiveness. I think it would make sense to sell smaller trial tubes, and perhaps a set of minis of all the flavors, because you never know how your pet will react to the product or if a different flavor would be more appealing to them. Plus, it cuts down on wasted product due to rejected/unappealing flavor choices, etc. Conclusion: Ingredients sound good, but my cat rejected the odorless artificial meat flavor and the product is now useless to me. I won't give it a one star just because we couldn't use it, though.
