Could a child in a wheelchair drive over this in order to make it work? If someone is willing to try it out even with a bicycle that would help!

The kids ride bikes over the stomp rockets with mixed results. Usually the kiddo needs to stop and lift up the front wheel to drop it on the pad to get it to work. I second the baseball bat others mentioned or something similar to use to stomp as well or instead.

Could this launch normal toy cars or only those with special connector?

Only the cars that come with it. However you can buy extra cars.

Can you use on carpet?

Not fast on carpet, and this toy break so easy, it pop after 3 jumped of my 3 year old.
