This stuff is the real deal !
This is not only a review but a cautionary tale. We had a stray dog visit our yard this summer, repeatedly and he was utterly infested with fleas ! We live in the country and until he came here, only had fleas on our property once, 24 years ago. So, none of our animals were treated. Our dog was on CBD oil at the time due to arthritis pain which we were managing beautifully. The problem was, he was so comfortable and pain free I had no idea he had fleas. Finally after 3 months even the CBD stopped working and we put him to sleep and after he was gone, the fleas started eating US ! Absolute nightmare scenario, we had fleas at all stages. SO, if your dog is on CBD oil and not on flea treatment , be sure you check from time to time to make sure he/she hasn't got fleas because the CBD works so good for pain, you won't know. Our dog never scratched once or gave us any clue. Even our vet felt bad about this because she never thought of it and we had never done flea treatment because we simply never had flea problems. Our dog didn't live long enough to have complications that fleas cause ( tapeworms and a host of other yucky things) but as an owner....I felt like crap that I missed this whole thing. I'm normally smarter than that. So, when we realised the mess we were in, the first thing we did was get ALL of our animals indoors/outdoors on flea treatment. Then we started off in the house by vacuuming, steaming and spraying. ALWAYS do all of your steaming first, if you steam after you spray, with any kind of fleas killer you will be releasing the poison into the air, which isn't good for you OR your pets. We tried RAID flea spray which gassed us all out of the house and didn't do a stinking thing to get rid of the fleas. Used it according to the directions to no avail. I also tried Ortho Home Defense bug spray which is low odor and did an awesome job of getting rid of the adult fleas but because it does not contain IGS did nothing for the other flea stages but at least the Ortho Home defense doesn't reek to high heaven and it kills tons of other bugs as well. In order to do combat with these bugs from hell you absolutely MUST use a product that contains IGS !!! A few days after spraying the ORTHO and found out it wasn't going to get to the root of the problem, I stopped in at our local pet store and found this Zodiac spray that cost 3 times more than what you can buy it for on Amazon. THANK YOU AMAZON ! We cleaned the entire house one last time and I sprayed with the Zodiac. I'm pretty sensitive to any kind of bug killer and the Zodiac wasn't that bad. I did end up using my 3M respirator for vapors because I sprayed the entire house in one afternoon. I went room by room and the spray covered a little more than what they claim on the bottle. I LOVE THIS STUFF. Not only does it work but after it dries there is no odor and there is very little odor while you're spraying. We left the house for 2 hours, came home and you'd never have known anything went on in here. You can open the windows if you want but we didn't feel the need to do that. The company claims it keeps working for up to 7 months. We have not seen any fleas on our treated animals and my husband and I have not gotten any new bites since we used the Zodiac. I continue to vacuum like crazy, just in case and I may even spray again in another month, just to be safe because the problem was so bad. We actually had fleas in the sofa and loveseat :( The color of the furniture didn't change and there was no ill effects of the spray on the fabric. I was so glad I didn't have to burn the furniture ! I went through 5 bottles of this spray and the only thing I noticed that I didn't like was that the spray itself would leak from the trigger onto my spraying hand. Not all the bottles did this and I was spraying very vigorously. I noticed this fairly quickly on and grabbed some rubber gloves. The other bottles performed great and it was a whole lot of spraying. I'd give this product 10 stars if I could ! You get a whole lotta flea killing bang for the buck and I've seen plenty of reviews by people who've used Zodiac for years and have always gotten great results. Believe those people, I did and now my home is flea free and it's a product that I'll keep on hand, ALWAYS....just in case ! To those of you reviewers who claim this Zodiac doesn't kill live fleas.....SHAKE THE BOTTLE....then SHAKE IT SOME MORE !!! I can't stress how important this step is because the killing ingredient settles to the bottom of the bottles. I actually did find some live fleas to spray and it didn't do a thing to them....then I realised I FORGOT to shake the bottle. I tried again and BOOM. DEAD FLEAS. Also you may have some fleas that are resistant, I have heard that too but as bad as our situation was I can say without question....ZODIAC works, better than ANYTHING ELSE.

This spray works!!!
I have two pups that have NEVER had a flea issue. At the beginning of this summer I walked them through a local park and a day later they were scratching. Then I noticed a couple of fleas on them. Bathed them and got rid of the fleas. (Both pups are on Sentinel Flea medication.) Went to another park a few weeks later and...same issue. Thought at first it was the one park where they may have picked up the fleas. The other park is very clean and used very little by the community so I knew the pups couldn't have gotten the fleas from there. Then I thought about all of these feral cats that hang out in my neighbor's yard and, sometimes, mine. Has to be coming from them! I "Grok'd" what the best flea spray for the house was and this brand was mentioned. Plus, the reviews are very positive so I bought a spray bottle. I used it liberally on the perimeter of my house room carpeting and after a few weeks I have had ZERO issues with fleas! Nor does it appear to effect my pets in any negative way! It's a little bit pricey but if it works to get rid of the fleas then it's totally worth it to me! (*I also bought some bengal pump bottle spray for the exterior of the house, too.) Would definitely recommend as I cannot stand fleas!

Pleasant smell.
Works well, pleasant smell and dogs don’t mind the smell either. Easy to use, safe for dogs. I apply once a week.

My Experience Using on Handmade WOOL Rugs Against Moths, and Keeping Cats Safe
I used Amazon's "ask the community" feature for this product, before buying, to inquire about whether this can be used on wool rugs for moths? I got ZERO replies. It is a little frustrating because most of the time on Amazon, that "ask the community" feature feeds directly to the manufacturer rep's inbox. I was concerned about getting rid of moths, AND protecting our dogs and cats. I read all these reviews, particularly the one-star one stating that permethrin must be at levels 0.1% or LOWER to be safe for cats (dogs process this differently and tolerate it much better). No, I was not going to spray this ONTO my animals, I wanted to make sure that if sprayed on the rug (where our cats walk, lie, and roll), it would not be toxic for them. I did a lot of online research and even found the site from which that was quoted. For me, though, I needed to call my vet personally. I let my vet know this product has 0.28% permethrin, and gave the brand name, etc. I noted that this same brand, Zodiac, makes a spray that you are supposed to spray directly ONTO pets, which has 0.2% permethrin in it, and that is for dogs AND cats. My vet took all the info and took a day to get back to me, so she could research it and consult with other vets. When she got back to me, she said this 0.28% concentration is safe four our cats. Our vet knows how much we love our pets (we are in there all the time for them) so I hope she did her best diligence in finding those answers. Even still, I was worried about that 1-star review, and my conscience did not want me to do anything to jeopardize the health of the 4 little cat lives running around our home. Yet, I NEEDED to get rid of the moths ruining thousands of dollars in beautiful vintage Persian rugs! In my research I had looked up the differences between pyrethrin (extracted from marigolds and chrysanthemums) and its synthetic counterpart, permethrin. I remembered I had found another product, a few years ago, for a separate issue, that has a VERY low concentration of pyrethrin, only 0.012% !!!! This is far below that 0.1% minimum. The product is called "Safer End All" and it is a spray normally used for organic gardening (sold by Amazon). A few years ago, we had sprayed the product all over our walls and ceilings in the old attic area where stink bugs were getting in. They were completely gone in a couple of weeks. Our cats were fine. We vigorously sprayed the areas again the next year to make sure nothing came back. After all that use, it has been years, and the cats are still fine. Well, I got so fed up with a moth infestation in our handmade Eastern wool rugs, that I used what was left of that same Safer End All spray on the surface of our wool rugs. I tested a small area first, to make sure I did not have discoloration, and I have had no discoloration after almost 2 weeks now. I then sprayed the Zodiac spray on the UNDERSIDE of the rug, where our cats would not touch it, and I sprayed the Safer End All on the top surface of the rug. We have not seen moths anywhere near the sprayed areas in a week since. After muddling around with cedar and lilac, and other natural remedies, the moths just did more damage. I did all I could to be as safe as possible for our cats, but we need to go a notch more strong to get rid of these moths. I am hopeful that the combination of the Zodiac and the Safer End All will finally eradicate the moths, and leave our cats none the worse for the wear, as well. (Disclaimer: I do not want to be liable to anyone who uses this and has a problem, so be aware that I am posting this per my personal honest experience, only. Use at your own discretion, as results may vary.)

A good component to one's flea-killing arsenal
We bought this spray to use as part of a flea-killing regimen that included Frontline/Capstar, glue traps, spraying, and diligent vacuuming of the affected area. Despite the initially musty smell it gives off, the spray does seem to work well. It uses tried-and-true compounds that are known to kill both fleas and eggs. Opening the windows a bit while spraying, will help the odour dissipate. We caught our problem early, so we SEEM to have them under control now. I will echo conventional wisdom in saying: don't just lean on one method alone to kill fleas, as it will cause you frustration later. There is no "silver bullet" for flea control; you have to treat every stage of the flea lifecycle to thin out different chunks of the population. Also, DON'T FORGET TO VACUUM! Vacuuming is one of the most overlooked-yet-effective control methods. 80-90% of a flea population is in egg form, and a routine of thorough vacuuming a few times per week will really help depopulate them. Vacuum the crevices of furniture, under the furniture, corners, carpets, etc. http://www.reuters.com/article/2007/12/18/us-fleas-vacuum-idUSN1852730520071218

WORKS LIKE MAGIC!- Veterinarian Review
I've used this product for years. It has 2 main ingredients. The first one kills live fleas and the second one (METHOPRENE) kills the flea EGGS! IF YOU DON'T KILL THE EGGS YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE FLEAS! I have dogs and cats. Some reviewers wrote that its not safe for cats-NOT TRUE! The first ingredient (Permethrin) is made from the flower buds of mums. Cats find it unpleasant but it won't hurt them as long as you don't apply it on them. Zodiac is part of a 3 stage system for killing fleas. The other 2 steps are a topical treatment (Frontline Plus with Methoprine, and Capstar. Capstar is a pill that kills ALL FLEAS ON YOUR PET without doing any harm to them at all. Capstar is used in my clinic and shelters to kill fleas on infested animals. Capstar will NOT kill eggs and only lasts 24 hrs so apply the Frontline a day before. With dogs I just put it in a piece of cheese and they eat it. Cats are fussier so you can crush the pill and mix it in their food (tuna works best) but I'm a Vet so I know how to slide it down a cats throat. Once given Capstar, put your pet in an enclosed space (the bathroom) for an hour or two and you'll see dozens of dead fleas on the floor. Some will still be alive so sweep them up with a vacuum and spray the entire area with ZODIAC immediately. A final tip: Fleas are easily killed by HEAT or COLD. Wash infected sheets, clothing, and put in Dryer on HIGH HEAT for an hour. Pillows and children's stuffed animals can be put in your FREEZER for 2-3 hours and all Fleas and Eggs will die. I hope this review helps with your flea problems. Remember, Neuter your pet!
