Beyond Expectation

I used this case to hold a factory sealed box of vintage collectible cards. The platform and rounded plastic edges makes for a wonderful display. Highly recommend.

I've been eyeing this display case to hold my 1:43 scale cars and upon delivery was quite pleased with what was in the box. The acrylic cover has rounded corners (as opposed to sharp edges of most display cases) making for a streamlined appearance. Included in the case is a removable "L" shaped insert to offer a mix of arrangements and for 1:43 scale this would accommodate three cars. I considered this option however with the insert in place the hinged cover does not fully close. Someone missed this interference on the prototype. With this screw up noted I opted for the standard "car lot" arrangement. Also the AW sticker on top (which hides the injection mold port) is upside down. The case is molded from heavy wall plastic making the premium price justified despite the negatives noted.UPDATE: Due to changes in my display layout I've switched from 1/43 scale cars to 1/64 (Hot Wheel size). This change necessitated the use of the stepped insert which previously stated causes closure issues. Fixed! By carefully removing the clear cover from the base and use a small diameter needle file elongate the hole in the cover horizontally in the forward direction (both sides). Only a small amount of material need be removed. Once assembled with the insert, perfect closure.
