First thing I did was remove the glass, 12 or so small screws, and add a bead of clear silicone around the glass seal. I am not sure it was needed, but reviews on most LED lights these days complain about moisture, so this was cheap insurance. I needed floods for reverse pods, these throw a great flood patter. I also mounted mine sideways due to the existing hole that I had in the hitch, maybe not the best idea as the flood pattern seemed to me more pancake, mounting these sideways throws light up and down, vs all around the ground. These have a center row of leds and outter chips around it, great design, but more for a proper horizontal application than sideways like I did. Would recommend.

These lights come with a relay already wired into a switch to make things easy. They don’t have waterproof plugs like some other brands, so you have to use the included crimp on terminals or solder them in. The switch required for the relay is included, though, and it does have a plug to allow for easy install once you decide where it goes. The housings are almost exactly like the Rough country 2” pod housings. Same exact exterior size, but the lights are slightly larger inside. As mentioned, they don’t come with waterproof plugs, but the Nilights do come with a relay setup and extra blade fuses. The hardware provided is stainless, not black oxide, which is different from Rough Country, and the screws are not inset into the sides of the lights. I suggest getting black oxide or a little black spray paint if you care that much. The RC 2” pod light covers seem to fit just fine and will cover the Nilight logo if you are that concerned. Light output is huge. Very bright. It isn’t a spot light, so these are great as ditch lights. Overall, these lights are a great value if you’re looking to install something yourself. Plenty of light and they can be installed cleanly so you don’t look like you had your cousin’s drug dealer do it for $20 in an alley in inner city Detroit.

Pods are extremely bright, amazing value with the wiring harness included, and build quality is solid. I had ordered the pods alone for $20 but had to return when I saw this harness included for a few more bucks! Keep in mind over 80 watts draw with both pods running if your gonna run this from a battery pack. Any 12v battery needs to have at least 7 amps output. (Also, Holding the nut down into the pod’s cooling fins, when first installing the mounting bolts…is not nearly as bad as some people claim. Took 5 min tops for both.)

If you want to go to the cheaper route, this is a great option! They still do its job! They’re not gonna be smaller. They’re actually true to size being 3 inches. I haven’t had any faults or any electrical issues with them no burning of lamps and I go Off-Road quite often even at night. Not a single issue I’ve had it in all types of elements. I’ve had them on for about a year now so far they’re running great.
