I've owned some mora carving knives for well over a decade, incl a few double edged hook knives and several righties that come in the 2-knife set. As a lefty I learned a long while ago to be flexible and semi-ambidextrough when using handtools. But, I wanted a lefty hookknife I could do push and pull cuts lefty style (you can hold the righties lefthanded for a lot of movements). Some thoughts on this: blade not sharp. sharp enough to cut a finger, not even sharp enough to cut basswood cleaning the blade is much much thinner than my other hook knives. the machine grind on this knife is terrible--this thing needs additional shaping, dressing up on at least two grits of stone, and then it'll be ready for the strop. the back was never deburred or polished or anything else--it is rough, ugly, janky looking the sheath/cover, which intrigued me, hugs the blade too tightly--if you get grit in it you'll ruin the blade So anyhow, after 1-2 hours of work on it I have the thing serviceable, but more in the category of a flexcut knife (emphasis on flexxxxx) than what I'm used to seeing from mora. Mostly this has me wanting to check out what 2cherries or pfeil have to offer in this style. I'd rather pay twice as much for something a bit more refined. Honestly, for a beginner I would recommend the flexcut options since at least they're polished up.

Macht was es soll. Sehr scharfes Messer zum Löffel schnitzen. Einfach, aber gute Qualität. Die Lederhülle macht Sinn.
