For a small yard, this is great!
We have a small lake house and I wanted something I could store in the house when not in use since it has no garage. I thought I'd try battery powered as I didn't feel comfortable storing gas in the house. I've had this a couple of months now and can report it is working great! I will tell you the one flaw which is if it hits any bumps in the yard, the battery can pop loose. At first, I debated returning the unit as defective but think maybe it is a safety to prevent damage to the blade. Now that I've used it many times, I realize that limitation and am just careful when I go over bumps and it is not a problem. If your yard is very rough with a lot of rocky areas, this might be a problem for you but if you have a normal yard, it will not be a problem. The mower runs about 20-30mins on a charge. It has two speeds so if the grass is really long and it has to bump up to high speed, the run time will be about 20mins. On normal speed, you will get 30mins. IT is enough time for me to mow the yard when running normal speed but if I procrastinate and let the grass get long where it is always running in high speed, it isn't quite enough to mow it all. Our yard is about 60 feet wide so on the smallish side. Mower cuts grass really neatly btw. No gas and the charging is super simple as well. Works like the dewalt chargers if you are familiar with those. The mower does have folding handle which is nice since I store it inside after each use. I like the large wheels as they make it easy to roll up and down the stairs to the house. Adjustment for cut height is also a simple one handle deal but Ieave it on the same cut height every time so no issue there. Can't think of anything else to say other than I really like it. A second battery would be smart if you have a large yard as battery charging takes a couple hours. I am very happy with the purchase so far.

Little Dynamo Slays the Day
I’ve used this mower twice and it works really well. Cuts grass as easily as my prior B&D but is so much less heavy which is due to the smaller size battery and the chassis being metal vs the heavy plastic/vinyl of my old machine. I read one comment that compares this mower to a toy and I can understand that now after using it since it is very lightweight for a mower. That may bother a big stronger person in utilizing it but for an old lady with back issues it’s the perfect size/weight to maneuver around. The mower does an excellent job cutting grass & it’s more compact than my older mower which I had to trash bc the battery no longer charged. I have a 75x100 lot so rather small but still enough to need a decent mower. You can’t beat battery powered lawn tools for personal use. No gas, oil, or spark plugs to worry about & no gas fumes! There are only two negatives so far: 1) it’s a bit difficult to push in the battery as it tends to not click in on the first push 2) one battery charge doesn’t quite last to complete both my back & front yards like my older mower but for me that’s not a problem as I usually do only one area on one day then do the other side another day. Actually there is one other thing the manufacturer can improve is in securing the battery & charger inside the lawnmower box. Both items were wrapped, the battery in bubble wrap; the charger I believe was in a small box but both were just loose in the larger mower box and could have been easily damaged in transit, especially the battery. I’ve included some photos of my back yard to show the area after cutting & the mower. Good price too for what it can do. The battery is my favorite feature as I can hold it in one hand! My old mower I could barely lift the battery out to get it charged it was so huge & heavy. I’m cruising now.

Parts come loose and drop off; otherwise a good mower
Note after 2 years: Mower is still going strong. I would advise everyone to just buy proper lock washers (and, if needed, replacement nuts and bolts) and just tighten everything down permanently. Otherwise the mechanicals of the mower are sound, the battery functions well, I have no complaints. It's not hugely powerful when the grass is long and thick but it's probably equivalent to a cheap gas mower in horsepower. If your grass is long, just take your time and don't force it. It's a nice battery, motor, switch works well, really nothing not to like except the people at Greenworks apparently never heard of a little thing called a lock washer. The vibrations of the mower cause all the stabilization bolts to fall off. Really I should spend 15 minutes tightening all the bolts every time I use it. But instead it drops nuts and bolts into the lawn, which I can never find and then I have to figure out what diameter things are or substitute something else from the hardware store. The last straw for me today -- the hand-tightened knobs that hold the handle to mower body dropped off, rolled forward and got chewed by the mower. So I have no idea what diameter or thread the bolt requires, and the other end of the bolt is welded to the mower body. So I'm going to have to use calipers to estimate the size and thread density (metric or English, I have no idea which), and just buy a bunch of bolts around that size and hope something will fit. It's just a lot of hassle, and I wish the engineers at Greenworks had just worked a little harder at their jobs.
