Authentic (original) design.
This buttpack is the classic 1960s - 1980s ALICE compatible design. Some other buttpacks (Rothco) have straps that are too wide and slip through buckles too easily. This buttpack has the original width straps and these straps do not slip. Big bonus is these come with an adjustable carrying strap. Can attach to ALICE gear or carry it cross chest with the strap. Good stuff. Coming from China, shipping sometimes takes a while, but worth the wait. Patience, Pada One. Customer service is also very good.

The originals are harder and harder to locate as original government surplus.
The quality of these packs are very good. Works great with older ALICE gear. The size is medium and great for lunch or other gear.

Overall a decent replica. But the inside of an original had a rubberized inner cover. On this one, that cover is just thin green canvas so no moisture protection.

This is a replica of the Vietnam era buttpack I was issued in Alaska in the 80,s. Awesome I bought 4 so far. Saved my butt many a night while in the Army. Big enough for an MRE a poncho and a poncho liner. Never go in the woods overnight without one
