⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid Replacement Axles – Great Value!
I recently installed the Detroit Axle 4WD Front CV Axles on my Chevy Silverado 1500, and so far, I’m very impressed. These axles are a great direct-fit replacement at a fraction of the cost of OEM parts.Pros:✔ Perfect Fit: Installation was straightforward, and the axles fit just like the factory originals. No modifications or extra parts were needed.✔ Durable Build Quality: The materials feel solid, and the boots seem thick and well-sealed to prevent premature wear.✔ Smooth Performance: No vibrations or clicking noises—just smooth, quiet operation, even under load.✔ Great Value for the Price: Compared to dealership or name-brand replacements, these axles provide excellent performance for a much lower cost.Cons:➖ Included Clamps Could Be Tighter: The axle boot clamps work fine, but I added a couple of zip ties for extra peace of mind.Overall, Detroit Axle delivers a solid, affordable alternative to OEM CV axles. If you’re looking for a reliable replacement without breaking the bank, these are definitely worth considering. Would buy again!Let me know if you’d like any tweaks!

Axle update
“Received product quickly, and packaged very well (in a box) protecting spline and boots. Fitment was perfect on my 2008 Z71 Tahoe and appears to be good quality. At this time, I highly recommend Detroit. I will share a couple of things, though not a big deal at the moment and probably common within the industry. I have a concern with the "inner" boots, for they collapsed when installed. During factory assembly, the axle/inner bearing was fully "retracted" while the boot was installed and clamped to the "axle". Given the boot has a great "seal", it began to collapse due to the "vacuum" created as the axle is extended to secure the axle nut. I thought it would relax soon but two weeks later there is no change. I may have to remove and ask for two new "boot to axle" clamps, allowing the boot to relax and then re-clamp. I'm afraid if I do nothing, the boot will prematurely fail compromising the bearing. The axle clamp is extremely tight and sliding a "pick" or something very small between the boot and axle may be possible to relieve the pressure (very carefully of course to avoid damage to the boot/seal). If it does work, I can see having to leave the instrument in place for a little while - maybe overnight for the pressure to fully "equalize". Just a thought.... Also be prepared to have a larger socket for the new axle nut supplied for it is "beefy" compared to OEM. One can use the nut off the old axle, but most likely it has been removed a number of times to replace previously failed boots and wouldn't be recommended..... Again, the axle appears to be great quality and wouldn't hesitate to buy again.”Update - well, a year and a half later and less than 5,000 miles - an axle boot has failed. Very disappointed an axle boot last no longer than this - especially given vehicle has not been “off road”.

Great products, great warranty!
I have always been happy with Detroit Axle products. OEM quality and fit. These axles (4WD Tahoe) are no exception. They have been trouble free for 5 years and close to 90,000 miles. A tear developed on one of the boots, which is pretty common for CV axles. One call to Detroit Axle, and they shipped a replacement. So, not only good products, but they honor their warranty as advertised. Thank you Detroit Axle.

BUY ELSE WHERE!!!!! PERIOD
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL RIP U OFF. They sent me axle. After assembly I turned it by hand and could tell it did not fit. I was rubbing a bolt. I took it back off and put my old one back on. Sent them the axle in the same box they sent to me. They saying I sent them the old axle. So they don't even recognize their own product?? Or did I receive an old axle to start with?? Either way they only refunded me $5.77 on a $83 part. And I'm still needing an axle on my truck. I was just trying to replace it as well while I had the hub apart changing the wheel bearings. I bought their struts last year and they suck as well. Can feel every bump and they make noises. Do yourself a favor and buy else where. Unless u prefer getting ripped off. Over horrible parts. I wouldn't even give them 1 star. Very bad business. Count your days Detroit axle. Cuz y'all suck.

Good Parts
Easy to install - unless your have good mechanical skills, it takes a good amount of work and disassembly to remove old and install new.The part has held up for over a year, im confident to purchase more and install. Do yourself a favor and pick up the extra warranty on it so your covered. a few bucks for a replacement is well worth it.It beats the insane gouging price of the 'box' store house brand parts. From experience, I can tell you the quality is better than house brands. You have to ask yourself why they give lifetime warranties on them. The odds of you bringing it back to replace are slim to none.Do your homework.Works on both sides of 2008 GMC Sierra 4x4 1500.

Broken clamp
I had purchased one earlier this year and fit perfectly.I had to replace another cv axle and upon opening the package the xcv boot clamp is broken.I contacted Detroit axle and the representative told me "IF" he calls me back they have a clamp to replace and if he "doesn't " call they don't have one to send me and I will have to buy one myself. You mean to tell me that Detroit axle doesn't have a clamp to send me that was defective!? Its Detroit axle..I guess they are not building anymore cv axles right now being they have no clamps for the cv boots. Very poor for a USA made product.
