Works on Polyester
I used this for a prop on a small to medium, polyester plush. I was worried it wouldn’t stick. I used the stove top method, with 2 gallons of water mixing for 30 minutes with some detergent. It looks great! I used the whole bottle. I didn’t want to waste the color so I also dyed a hoody & shirt. Those items were mixed fabrics but they picked up the color & didn’t fade after a wash cycle.

Worked well IMO
Used this dye to make my dream dress for my son's wedding darker. It was easy to use but ot is time consuming, so prepare for that. It washed well (twice now). Quality dye, not sticky or smelly at all. I will admit, I did not follow the process as long as I was supposed to, and I'm certain that it would have turned out darker if I had. The dress was more of a royal/purplish color before the Rit dye.

Easy to use
Very easy to use ! Used it for Halloween to dye a white tiger to DIY a baby costume! It came out great! Didn’t stain any other clothes! The color came out the exact color I was going for!

More black than grey.
I used this to redye my car carpets. They came out amazing. Would give 5 stars although the dye is much darker than the bottle advertises.

It’s perfect!!
I love this dye so much, used it on a white suit for my boyfriend’s Loid Cosplay. It ended up being the exact color we wanted!! Bought 3 bottles to dye the entire suit. (1 1/2 per dye. We dyed the vest twice with a touch of black to achieve the darker color). I love rit dye! It also irons well without too much transfer (make sure to use a separator just in case though)

Didn't work for me.
Did not work to dye my synthetic fabrics even flow the instructions super careful or doubling the amount used. Just tinted the colors I was trying to cover up. Didn't black them

Good dye
I dyed 2 white tee shirts and only used about half of the bottle. My husband was surprised at how well the shirts came out.

Fabric became badly wrinkled and faded in a short time.
Wanted to dye my outdoor umbrella cover because it had faded. I followed the directions by soaking it in hot water in a big soup pot that I had heated on the stove. After waiting the suggested time, I removed the cover and rinsed several times by hand in cool water. I spread it out and let it dry. The fabric became perma-wrinkle. It took me an hour to iron it out and it still had wrinkles. After all that, it started fading within a month. Next time, I'll just buy a new cover.
