Good quality oriental style soup spoons in heavy stainless steel material. I double-checked all the edges and they seemed to be fine and not cutting my fingers, though they could have been more polished rounded smooth edges. Also I WISHED the handles to be a bit longer (0.5 to 0.8 inches longer). But the existing handle length is just like an oriental porcelain soup spoon would be. So may be I am just a bit too fuzzy? Like what my late mother would have said to me, "What do you expect 6 nice extra heavy stainless steel soup spoons at a cost of only $10.00 to be? You just can't have everything you wanted!"

I absolutely love these. These are not like the ones you'd use at a ramen restaurant but they are ideal for soup. I read a few reviews on here regarding them developing rust, I noticed that all who reported rust had purchased the same type which is like a brushed finish. These are definetly stainless steel and my guess is that if you wash them and don't dry them, they develop rust the same way a knife would. So for those leaning torwards the brush finish, which is quite ellegant, know that you have to dry them off or wash them with very hot water for avoid rust. and if they do develop rust, it's easy to remove by using a fine brillo.

We love these spoons for just about everything - oatmeal, soup, yogurt etc They are comfortable to hold and just the right size for soup. It was a great purchase!
