Okay, so I got these for Christmas and my mom was super happy to get me something I wanted. I am an adult and typically buy my own things but my old razor headset was starting to fall apart. She found out and got me this headset. I open it on Christmas and its the AL3000 in a open box, with no packaging and clearly opened. So I had to return the product through Amazon, and since it was a gift, it ended up being a massive hassle. I eventually did get the right headset and it is amazing. Super comfortable for hours, automatically adjust to your head, sound is right, my voice sounds very accurate, and the 3 year warranty is nice. I would recommend if you get the actual headset.****I got this for Christmas 2020, by around August 2021 I am having severe issues****I play games once or twice a week and use it for classes. I don't abuse these. They don't go outside. They don't get dropped. They sit on my coffee table or my desk next to my PC. That's it. I have had some issues where friends have noticed if my girlfriend, across the room is around on her headset, they can hear her and sometimes the TV. Both are not very loud and not right next to me either. We usually have to mute each other to play games together. She is using my old Razer Kraken headset, nothing expensive but works decent. She had less feedback noise then I do and these were more expensive. I thought Altec made some solid products so I tried these but not happy less than a year in.That is not the worse of it, starting a couple weeks ago, playing on PS4 and PC I have been getting muted. Usually unplugging and replugging the jack in works fine, but now that isn't working anymore. I take care of my stuff real well, there's no impacts or signs of damage, never been wet. I cannot explain it, but I got fed up because I was playing on my PC and no one could hear me for 30 minutes, then I unplug and replug, turn on and off the mute button, and I could see noise activation on my settings for 2 seconds then muted again. I played like this for a whole night with no ability to communicate and I ended up typing responses in a game chat. I tried again on FallGuys on PS4 lost Mic again. Same thing unplug and plug and they hear me for a second, then gone. Mute and unmute bottom do not change it..... audio quality wise and comfort these are great, durability and usability as a gaming headset are below expectations and worse then any headset I've had. I have dealt with mics they get tinnie or weird, cut off, but this headset won't even let me use the Mic. It does the same on PS4. Tried with 4 different PS4 Pro controllers, Oculus, and PC and it happens on all of them. I checked the ports, cleaned everything with alcohol and checked with my old headset and no issues. Well at this point I'm not going to try to get my money back or have them fix it. I went and purchased a competitors headset and will likely never buy Altec products again.I'd recommend something better quality.
