Great adapter for a server machine
Great adapter for a server machine, or in my case, a PFSense router build. A quick tip (this card uses 4 Realtek NIC chips): test the card in a test bench PC with the latest version of whatever OS you are using. in my case, my test bench PC running Windows 10 1709 detects the card immediately and it works as advertised. all 4 ports connect at Gigabit speeds, provided you also have a Gigabit Ethernet Switch. As for recommendations, if you need a cheap multi-port network card for a server machine, router build, or some other application, I give this card a 5 out of 5 based on my experience with this $40 card.

Does not work with VMs
This card works fine in Linux or windows but it’s not compatible in a virtual setup. So if you’re looking for NIC for a normal workstation this will be fine. But don’t get it for a home lab setup. Giving it 4 stars because it will be fine for most people. I tried it with proxmox and didn’t work, and it’s not compatible with ESXI 8 (or 7) either. Tried looking for community based drivers and create a custom ISO of ESXI and it still didn’t work. It’s not worth the hassle to further troubleshoot, I ended up returning it and going with a NIC from the HCL on ESXI.

PfSense build
I was thinking about buying an Intel PTQUADPORT card, but I only have one PCIe 16 lane slot. This card seems to transmit at gigabit speeds as advertised and I could put 2 more in as my mobo is an older one which has 2 PCIe 1x slots and 1 PCIe 16x slot. PfSense recognized it right away, and works just fine. I bridged the card with the LAN interface; LAN,OPT1,OPT2,OPT3,OPT4. These cards seem to run pretty cool, only topping out at 95*F while doing heavy work. Three of these would be no problem, especially in a server chassis.

Great gig Nic
The card does exactly what you'd expect it to. I've purchased 3 of these and have them being used in different scenarios. 1 is in a Windows server build. 1 is in a pfSense firewall. 1 is in an ESXI VM host. They all work great with 0 hiccups. If I need another 4 port gig nic card, this is the one I'm buying.

used for fpSense firewall
Easy to install. pfSense recognized it on first boot up.

Yup, it's a network card.
Product has precisely 4 gigabit ports, kinda like the photo. Fits in a pci slot like you'd expect an internal card to. Ease of Install depends on personal intelligence. If you don't know what youre doing inside a computer case, ask someone who does.

ESXi incompatible
Needed for VMWARE lab. ESXi 6.7 did not detected this NIC. Dell small form factor 390 computer does find device.

As advertised! Excellent value!
As advertised! I needed this quad nic for my desktop pc. I’ve got a virtual/physical GNS3 and physical CCIE R&S lab build going. These extra ports allow me to lab my physical customer edge device stacks through my MPLS core (GNS3) to other customer edge devices stacks. I had the nic installed and working within minutes. I didn’t even need the drivers disk.

works amazing. bought two of those specifically because i know they are Linux compatible as well as windows. i use one for a custom Linux based clearos firewall everything works out of the box. used the other one for a custom freenas nas also linux based and everything works out of the box. nic teaming was a breeze with this in freenas i have 4ghz throughput. its fast!. this nic was also tested with vmware esxi and was picked up out of the box. seller was very good and shipping was fast i definitely recommend and will be buying again. the price for this is simply too good.
