I was a bit weary about using this on a 2019 Acura MDX 9 speed ZF transmission. Did 2 drain and fills within 12hrs. Will do another drain and fill with its next oil change. I also used it in the rear differential so far it’s working excellent. Tested #1 wear protection by RAT540 Blog even edging out Amsoil OE and Signature Series ATF. UPDATE: I used this awesome oil on a Mercedes 722.9+ trans service which had that weird blue thin ATF and this stuff at 80,000mi and it picks up where it left off. Smooth. Did my LX470 @291,000 and another friend’s LX470 at 190,000mi. Smooth as can be. The Acura runs very well. So this works as an “ideal” Dex/Merc multivehicle. If your trans shifted perfectly before, don’t be afraid to use this stuff! It will protect your trans better than oem. With any trans, I suggest changing ATF much earlier than the manuals state, even with this ATF.

My automatic trans was starting to jump during manual engagement and was also sluggish on the downshift. 200K Miles on factory fluid. Did a drain refill using this specific product as recommended by 540RAT. Car is shifting and running like it did brand new. worth every penny

Great for Mercon V applications. My Ford Windstar has 250,000 miles on the original transmission using this fluid. however -- watch out if your Ford calls for the original Mercon fluid - back In 2001 Ford specifically stated in BOLD print "Mercon is not compatible with Mercon V" - then In 2007 Ford discontinued Mercon and specify Mercon V is now compatible with the old Mercon. What magic did Ford do? I found that "multi-fluids" like this mobil product is best for Mercon V applications. See Ford TSB 06-14-4 dated 7/24/06 and for power steering see Ford TSB 01-15-07 dated 7/26/01. Fortunately Castrol and Valvoline still sell the original formula of Dexron II / Mercon fluid. I'd rather be safe and adhere to the owners manual..... ---- excerpt from a Ford 2003 E450 owners manual ---- Some transmission fluids may be labeled as dual usage, such as MERCON and MERCON V. These dual usage fluids are NOT to be used in an automatic transmission that requires use of the MERCON type fluid. However, these dual usage fluids may be used in transmissions that require the MERCON V type fluid. MERCON and MERCON V type fluids are NOT interchangeable. DO NOT mix MERCON and MERCON V. Use of a transmission fluid that indicates dual usage (MERCON and MERCON V) in an automatic transmission application requiring MERCON may cause transmission damage. -- UPDATE Dec 2022 -- 6 qts -- in 2014 $53 -- in 2019 $58 -- Dec 2022 $61 -- this is a good deal... compare this to conventional Valvoline Mercon V in 2021 $4.46 a qt, -- Dec 2022 doubled to $10 a qt

The transmission in our truck was rebuilt in 2012 and refilled with synthetic fluid. The shop wrote on the bill they used ATF M-5. When I went to service the transmission, gave our local auto parts store this info and got Mercon 5 for the 96 Ford. After several service's, noticed that M5 is not synthetic. Could not find a synthetic on Amazon or Ebay that said "fit" my truck. Finally called the original shop and he told me this is what he uses and has great success with it. And he said he doesn't have the storage to have the fluid for every rig so this meets the need and qualifications for many vehicles. It arrived on time and shipped all in recyclable products. No Styrofoam.
