Brilliant machine - so pleased I paid extra for this Vax Platinum Smartwash Pet carpet cleaner having bought cheaper ones in the past and been disappointed. This machine is light enough to use and manoeuvre easily whilst still feeling a quality weight. Tanks are all easy to fill and clean, it is very simple to use once you’ve read the short instruction book and thanks to the motion sensing dispense and vacuum, you get exactly the right amount of liquid onto the carpet preventing over-soaking. The benefit of this is that carpeted floors dry really quickly (10-30mins) particularly if you go over the floor quickly with the dry-only function at the end of a clean. Time will tell how reliable this machine is but at less than £200 it is excellent value for money.

This cleaner works perfectly and is easy to use. It did an amazing job of all the carpets in my house, you can also see how well it works when you empty it. No assembly required, just put on the 3 easy to use tanks, slot in the handle and that's it! You probably don't need the pet version of it, as it's just a battery operated squirter in the handle, that you dethatch to use. Just spray pet stain-remover directly from the bottle. I'm really pleased, and for this price, it's excellent value. You only have to use it 3-4 times and you've saved the cost of hiring one. No faults, no issues. It even has a feature that only sprays water when the device is moving forward at the right speed. The dry-only switch allows you to fully remove a lot of water after cleaning.

What a Buy, I didn't think it would do any good but how wrong I was!!! Carpets are like new, easy to use - picks up most of the water leaving carpets only slightly damp at most I m so impressed with this machine well worth the money!! Great design with side brushes that get right up to edges and the pre soak wand really works!! This is a great value cleaner and performs above expectations.

Made a massive difference to carpet and upholstery (I used a Dirtbusters Pet Pro carpet shampoo in it). Reasonably easy to use once you've navigated the instructions, although not everything is 100% obvious. Instructions on the supplied shampoo from the same manufacturer say it should be used neat in an "auto-mix" machine. This is apparently a machine with separate water and shampoo reservoirs. This machine is, therefore, an auto-mix machine, although nothing anywhere on the machine documentation or instructions uses this terminology at all, so it's assumed you're going to know what they're talking about. I felt the instruction diagrams for fitting the rollers brushes, etc. could also have been clearer and bigger. Both carpet and upholstery cleaning were very good, lifting a lot of dirt and smelling much better afterwards. Everything was left a little damp, as you'd probably expect, but by using the "dry only" mode on the machine you can go over areas several times to reduce this, and everything dried out overnight for me. The slight pain I found (at least on first use) was that the cleaning action lifted a lot of fluff from the carpet, and I had to clean out both the brush rollers and the vacuum nozzle on the front really frequently, and it's a bit fiddly to clean and clilp back in each time. The big wide vacuum nozzle (which sucks the water back up through a narrow slit) can also sometimes be sucked closed by the vacuum, and I needed to gently pull apart the gap on the nozzle to get it to start working from time to time. Hose attachment with the rotating brush worked well on sofa cushions. Again, they were left a bit damp, but I was able to leave these outside to dry in the sunshine afer cleaning them. Overally, happy with this machine. Performance is very good, and would have given it 5 stars if there had been a bit more care with the clarity of the instructions from such a major manufacturer, and if it was a bit less fiddly when continually have to keep cleaning the machine out every 10 minutes or so during use.

Got this machine last week, have used the detachable brush and have cleaned 2 carpeted rooms already, here my view and learnings: Wonderful product, loved it, it does clean very well upholstery and carpets and this comes from a person with very high cleaning standards! Watching the videos on their website does help a lot! Please do so! You need to monitor the clean water tank so you don't run out of it, this happened to me the 1st time Keep emptying the dirty water tank, it will allow you to run the machine lighter, some people say it's heavy and it will be if both tanks are full Remove as much furniture as you can, it will allow you to run it for washing and drying modes smoothly I used the Platinum Antibacterial cleaner and it's wonderful, my allergies are all gone in the dirty water tank👌🏼 I ran it in washing and drying modes once and a second one removing the cleaner product tank, allows you to rinse it to get a softer texture after drying (watch the videos!) Ran it twice on dry only mode and it took few hours to dry completely - used it at 5 degrees 😂 After doing the cleaning took the time to clean tanks and let them open to dry to avoid for any moisture to build up The whole kit came with a faulty brush, contacted customer service and they confirmed a replacement will be sent - waiting for it to arrive but found the service overall to be of very good quality and customer oriented Overall think this purchase is worth making the effort, it will pay itself after few uses vs paying someone else to do it and you will have one of your own (with your own dirt, no external recycled dirt) and not mention how fun it was to run it! 😂 I am very pleased with my new carpet cleaning machine and regret not buying it earlier! 100% recommended 😎🎉

Very easy to assemble and clear instructions given. FIlled up the water and solution and tried it out on two two-bedroom and one lounge carpet. Quite heavy when full of water but manageable. I liked the automatic wash/dry feature, which left the carpet fairly dry. I then used the dry only switch and the carpet was only damp afterwards. It did a great job and then cleaned the brushes etc. Make sure the brushes are inserted correctly with the fastners on the left side are the right way round otherwise the cover will not fit properly. Overall, very pleased with it.

Disclaimer: We have 3 puppies and live in an old cottage with a lot of carpet :) Let's review this carpet cleaner ! It's really light when empty, and I would to first get it in the room/area you want befre filling the water tank ;) Our house is really old and the carpets are pretty old as well, but using this with a dedicated carpet cleaning product made a real difference : Cleaned room smelled almost like new. It's really efficient on dirt removal in the carpets and is well made. You can push it to the limit, it will remain really effective ! Overall, it's a great value for the money we bought it for. We are really happy, and I still remember the old cleaner my parents used when I was a child and this is so much better and easier to use ! (of course there was a lot of upgrades in 35 tears, but still, this is impressive !)
