Good quality planter base to capture excess water
I purchased these to contain the runoff from my outdoor containers. I thought that it would be a good solution as my patio was always wet and dirty. I thought the plants could reabsorb the excess water from the planter trays from the roots up. In theory it sounded good but I found that the water just ponded in the trays and would begin to attract insects and begin to smell.These are good quality, large, thick planter trays that I would use indoors to catch accidental overwatering that might damage your floors but they don't work for me outdoors.

Solid option
Seems to be solid construction (so far) and the lip on the trays are approx 2 inches tall so it'll hold a decent amount of water before spilling over.

Nice and sturdy
Was happy with the order. The black plastic saucer seems like it will hold up well. Time will tell, but from the feel of the plastic, I think they will. Ordered two different kind. The other brand was way flimsier, and has to be set on perfectly flat surface to not bulge or bend. Ordered more of the Austin saucers, in a different size.
