ZICAM Cold Remedy RAPIDMELTS - Citrus 25CT

Unfortunately, I've developed weak lungs and susceptibility to infection. The first time it happened, I got pneumonia. Three times last year I was very, very ill with infectious asthmatic bronchitis. (It's bad when you can't breathe. Try it sometime. For a month.) I'm no spring chicken, and this stuff is really serious. When it sets in, I start sliding downhill, and there's just no bouncing back. It's chest X-rays, shots in the butt, breathing treatments--the works. Oh, and did I mention? I'm still paying the assorted medical bills! This past spring while my sister and I were teaching in China, I felt the dreaded tightness in my larynx and chest. I had my prescription corticosteroid inhaler with me and started using it right away, but no luck. Began coughing that distinctive, deep bronchitis cough. With the tell-tale coppery taste of blood. The one that heralds a really bad chest infection. And I felt some panic--for very real reason. The medical facilities in the city where I was working are notoriously bad. So is air pollution. And I knew that I was facing something I couldn't fight. Although I had health insurance, I had been advised against seeking Western medical assistance while in China. Advised by the people I knew living there. "People go to Western clinics and hospitals to die," I was told again and again. They meant that the conditions and treatment at those facilities might result in fatality even if I weren't fatally ill. (Toward the end of our stay, I visited a patient at an orthopedic hospital, and I saw--and smelled--firsthand the conditions I'd been warned about. Finding her room was like walking through a sewer pipe. To put it nicely.) Anyway, back to Zicam. My sister put a box of Zicam Cold Remedy RapidMelts +C in my hand that she had brought from home and dictated, "Take these. Follow the directions exactly. Do not miss a dose. Take them til they are all gone." I don't usually take bossing from my sister with much if any grace, but this time I listened. I did what she said. And by the following morning, my symptoms were all but gone. The tightness had left, and the pulmonary burning was subsiding. By evening it was as if I had never coughed at all. For the fourth time in 15 months I had been struck by a lung infection. But the fourth time had a very different outcome. I'm happy to say. I'm keeping a package of Zicam in my medicine cabinet from now on. And at the first hint of bronchitis, I'll be using as directed. For me, it works!

Definitely helpe reduce the effects of a cold

Because when I sleep and amount I get can vary wildly I can be a little susceptible to colds. I love Zicam, they work for me like a charm and really like the rapid melt versions. It does help if you really know your body and are very sensitive to changes. As I have used Zicam I have become more aware of the early symptoms and will often pop one as a precaution to what may be an early symptom. Some of the symptoms I look for are obvious, like stuffy nose or headache that doesn't go away with a pain reliever and drinking a lot of water and some not so obvious like an increase in saliva and phlegm. Because of this I rarely get full blown colds and the last one I did have was knocked out in 24 hours with the every 3 hour use, except when I slept. Very highly recommended.

I swear by Zicam. 98% of the time I feel a sore throat or cold coming on, I suck on a couple of these at first and then one more about every 2 or 3 hours just for part of the day and I RARELY come down with the cold or sore throat. I think it is magical! A little pricey, but way cheaper than a trip to the doctor, who can't do anything anyway. I keep a bottle in my vehicle in case I feel anything coming on. Great stuff!

These rapid melts are the best things to happen since sliced bread! There are three different flavors, but I like the citrus best. They melt on your tongue and then our throat seems to relax and burn less. Though you only take these like every 3 hours, they provide great relief and protection, and can even shorten the duration of a cold.
