I have had a $3.29 Chinese hacksaw for nearly a decade. Really. Quite amazing in its chromed steel ergonomic design. $3.29... Astonishing even back then! However, it is not what you would call a high tension design and really is not suited to the singing-tight blades of today. My search through Amazon was quite the revelation. I wasn't really aware of what modern hacksaws were like or what they cost. I was pretty sure they were all made in China and that proved to mostly be the case. A few factoids sum it up: The 16 inches refers to the total length. It takes a 12" blade. There are references to different colors and different designs. Mine came in black, with molded finger grips in the main handle. The basic design and utility seems to be the same. I would have been happy with the UCLA team color blue or the plain aluminum. Doesn't matter to me. The black finish is very nice btw. The handles are aluminum. The top bar is chromed steel and holds blades. There is a set screw that allows for a blade to be locked in, sticking out from the front of the bar. This would be useful for accessing a small space or sawing from a hole. The blade adjustment is via the handy thumb screw and would probably allow for excessive blade tension if you aren't careful. By using the 45 degree blade mounting pins you can saw flush to a surface. This is actually a terrific design, as straightforward as you could make a hacksaw, and seems very sturdy and rigid. And, yes, it is indeed made in the USA. It comes with a Klein blade that is very nice. I cranked up the tension as much as I dared and easily sawed through a number of 1/8 and 3/16 steel plates. It was about twice as fast and half as hard as using my old rig. Not sure you could make a better hacksaw, although some people might have a need for a very low or deep design. Highly recommended.

Put up with cheap $29 hack saws for years then bought this. It is so much easier to use because the tension on the blade is really good and the weight and balance of this saw in your hands feels very comfortable.

Best hacksaw I have ever owned over the last 25 years working on site. Yes it's a tad more expensive than other leading brands. But you pay for what you get. Stronger, more accurate cutting. With the added advantage of being able to mount a reciprocating saw blade at the front for awkward cuts.

Muy firme en el corte, el mango es grueso y tiene muy buen hagarre, al corta no es tan cansado por su mango ergonómico, tensa muy bien la sierra. Lo recomiendo, indispensable tenerlo en casa o para un profesional
