The 2 cell variant takes 2 C-Cell Batteries, the 3 cell variant takes 3 C-Cell Batteries

Q: It says imported in the description. I thought all maglites were made in the US?

The packaging says the flashlight was designed and manufactured in the USA but includes some imported components.

Q: Does this model have the redesigned optics to eliminate the dark spot in the middle of the light beam?

When the beam is on focus = no dark spot. When you widen the beam = yes, a dark spots appears in the center.

Q: Does the light rechargeable or not ?

No, it is not rechargeable. Takes 3 C cell batteries. I've had mine for a few months and absolutely love it.
