Julia's Pantry Fried Dill Pickles Mix, Cloth, 9 Ounce

Good gracious this is great stuff! I tried using this to make fried pickles, but the jar of pickles was not nearly dill enough for me (not a problem with this mix!), so I just used the rest of the batter I had mixed for some fritters. They were so delicious.I decided on my second batch to mix the batter with real buttermilk and skip the pickles - it was even better! I could taste the heat in them much better when mixed with buttermilk than with water, they had a wonderful rich flavor.If I can find some VERY dill pickles one day I might try it again, but for now I'm satisfied with the fritters.

Badder stays on pickles very well unlike my previous attempts to make fried pickles. However the price is insane and more than double what I'm willing to pay for a tiny bag of flower with a little corn meal mixed in. This bag was intended to make one big batch but I want a box of mix that has the proper proportion size to make 3 or 4 smaller batches on a weekly basis.

We live pub food! This batter makes the perfect fried pickles! We also coated sliced avocado and fried. Yummy! We will be buying it again.
