The integrated video adapter on my very old computer died and replacement cards that fit my motherboard are hard to come by. This was the perfect solution. I bought this one in particular because it said that the supported resolutions were the same on both USB 2.0 and 3.0 and since I have a hi-res monitor in the supported resolutions, but only have USB 2.0, this was perfect. It is truly plug and play, Windows found the driver. Took me a minute to realize I had to make adjustments to my monitor settings via the frame buttons to get it to display video in PC mode rather than video mode. It also has 2 audio output ports, one for speaker audio and one for headphones. Also took me a minute to figure out why (with the HDMI cable), sound wasn't coming out of my speakers. I just connected my speaker wire to the audio port.I'd like to take off half a star because, through no fault of the device (computer limitations) it doesn't start the video signal until the computer is completely booted up, so I can't actually see the boot process. I suspect this won't be a problem for people using it to attach an additional monitor rather than using it as a primary.

This made it easy to add a second monitor to my laptop. I had to download new drivers, but that was simple.

This USB 3.0. male to HDMI female adapter worked perfectly with my new HP laptop to extend my laptop monitor to two external monitors. So my laptop screen I keep dark, while my two external monitors can show different things. Basically this adapter works and allows me to move different windows between the monitors. This is key when buying adapters. Make sure they extend your views and not just mirror.

For the price, this is worth a try to get a legacy PC (HDMI 1.4) hooked up to a newer 4K or higher TV (HDMI 2) for reliable video-stream playback.If you're hooking this up to a "Legacy" monitor (HDMI 1.4), be prepared, video-stream playback like Y-Tube may cause "blanking screen" signal interruption issues.Back Story - I had been struggling with getting that combination working, but coming up with the signal blipping out and going to a black-screen, no matter how low I set the PC's graphics resolution, or how much I tried to set the new 4K TV to accept HDMI 1.4.The old TV (1080p) gave up the ghost, which is what caused this predicament when the new TV went in to take its place.Didn't want to buy a new graphics-card hardware for an end-of-life PC I resurrected for this purpose, and went with this device as a portable/reusable solution instead.Works great, and despite other peoples' warnings, this device handles Zoom and Y-Tube video playback at 1080p just fine on this particular setup. (Granted, the video looks like it's producing 8bit depth color -vs- 32bit depth, but for the money, it is good enough for 'kiddo's remote dance class sessions over Zoom).Just glad to have a usable image on the "Big TV" again for this purpose. Thumbs up.

This was the fourth device I purchased, trying to get an external screen connected to my phone and tablet without native support through their usb-c ports. After pluging the device to my usb-c and installing the driver using the app store, it worked like a charm! I was so relieved! Once you get it going the first time, there is nothing else to fiddle with. I have a Xiaomi phone with Android v14 and it works just fine as mirror screen

My Chromebook is a few years old and the OS hasn't received updates since 2022 because it's too old. I purchased this item because I don't have any USB C ports. When I received the item the packaging said it only supports Windows / Mac so I was concerned. Plugged it in, turned on the 2nd monitor, worked immediately w/out dealing with drivers etc so I'm thrilled. All I had to do was uncheck Mirror mode to go to extended. Also, it included a USB C to USB 3.0 converter which I don't need but nice to have down the road.

Screen turns off and on constantly. Have to unplug and plug adapter back into computer daily. For the cost paid for this device I expect it to be functioning properly. Look elsewhere. I will be replacing it. Lasted less then 2 months.

I have been struggling trying to find the right adapter to connect 3 monitors. This worked perfect. Just plug it in and it worked. Connected it to my USB port and boom, 3 screens, extended display. I Love it! You must get a display link driver otherwise it just mirrors your screen and you cannot extend. This is what you need. !!!!

Tenía ciertas dudas si me iba a poder ayudar para conectar un viejo monitor por usb, y si se pudo, simplemente se instala el drive que viene al conectar el usb y listo, ahora un monitor extra. Lo conecté por usb 3.0

自分はM１air カルデジットTs3のサンダーボルト３経由で繋ぎました。問題なくYouTubeが映ります、遅延は感じません。2画面が使えてとても便利です。アクティビティーモニターで見る限り、CPU・メモリーともに大きい消費は無いようです。耐久性は使い始めたばかりなので、まだ解りません。何か、有りましたら追記します。
