You Get What You Pay For With This Block...
You get what you pay for with this ARB Snatch block. I am running an old Ramsey PTO powered winch with Warn synthetic line on my early CJ5 Jeep. It works as it should and I have confidence in its design and strength. Very happy with this purchase. Waited a while till one popped up seriously discounted as an Amazon Warehouse Buy, (original packaging was slightly damaged but the block & literature were there and in perfect shape.) One nice feature is these are easy to take apart and clean after a use in a muddy or sandy recovery. Overall it is worth the extra money if you really use and rely on your winch.

Quality Product You Can Count On
I used this block to pull a big stump up and it worked amazing, to the point that I'll buy another for max pulling. I read a lot of reviews on different blocks and viewed a lot that were much cheaper than the cost of this one. But after reading reviews I decided to spend a little more to ensure durability and I am so glad I did - Quality product that worth the investment.

Just buy it.
Excellent. It is heavy duty, well made, and made with quality materials. The more I look at it the more I notice little design details that are perfect for synthetic. It should pay for itself the first time I really need it. I took it out in the woods and played around with it and I am confident that it will do it's job over and over again without issue.(Thick mud + 7,000 lb vehicle) X (9,500 lb winch) = (20,000 lb snatch block) Seems about right.

Steel cable lines only!
Make sure to read. I didn't realize this was not meant for rope lines (steel cable only). Says it right in the description though not compatable with synthetic rope winch lines

Great serviceable unit.
If you offroad, and have a winch, you need one of these. Best bearing, minimum rope wear, and stupid strong.Don't take chances with the rings and things that need stabilization. Safest is best.

Wow! Big and Beefy!
This ain't your dime store snatch block! This here is a quality-made product. It's big, sturdy...heavy even. It opens easily to allow no-nonsense application of the cable on the pulley wheel. We tested it and found it easy to use. Smooth operation when the winch is pulling cable. It can easily be shackled to a tree guard or attachment point on a vehicle or elsewherer. While some people may diss the heft and size of this item, all I can say is I'm glad I've got a couple of 'em in my recovery kit. I know they'll perform when needed. That's piece of mind you can't put a price tag on. Totally worth it.

update: description is wrong, original: beautifully made, should to the job
Update: 5 star down to 1 star! Contacted ARB Australia and USA for clarification. This block is for 10,000 lb winches not 17,000 lbs. it would be VERY dangerous to use it with a 17, or 18,000 winch as implied by the use of 1/2" line. quote from description today says: "Suitable for up to 1/2" rope or cable. For use with winches up to 17,000 lbs. including the Warn 16.5 ti." COMPLETELY WRONG AND DANGEROUS.My original review:"It looks real nice, handles 1/2" synthetic or Steel cable - that was key for me. I really like the simple functional opening design. I haven't actually loaded it up but will update review when I do."

Big upgrade over the cheap versions! Way safer!
This thing is SOOOOO much better than the cheaper ones I purchased before. After seeing a video of a competitors snatch block (that I purchased) pin sheering off under a load, I threw it out and spent the money on this one. Right out of the package you can tell it is significantly more substantial. Very solid, clearly will be able to handle a load. It is very heavy and heavy duty
