Ugly Stik GX2 Casting Fishing Rod

Great pump replace wash down pump with this works great

Haven’t fished with it yet but it’s all setup with my Zebco 33 Platinum reel. The quality is exactly what I expected based on my visual inspection. I have other Ugly Sticks and I really like them. I’ve have them for years.

For the record, I'm not an avid fisherman. I'm a weekend warrior. But I have little place on a lake and do a fair amount of fishing. I own 6 Ugly Stiks - four 5 1/2' with pistol grip, one 6' with pistol grip, and this one. I wouldn't recommend it for a high end reel. There are MUCH better and more expensive rods for that purpose. So my 5 star rating is based on similarly priced rods. It wouldn't be fair to compare it against rods costing 10 times as much. But if your reels are more entry or intermediate level, I would certainly give Ugly Stiks a look. I currently use them with 3 Zebco Bullets, a Zebco Omega, a Zebco One Classic, and an old Penn 209. I use them primarily for dock fishing. They are extremely durable. One of them I've had for years. I've never had a bit of trouble with it. They are by far my favorite rod at their price point. I'm not a fan of cork grips. I love the grips on the Ugly Stiks. They just feel right in my hand. The light colored tip on the black rod really makes it stand out when you get a strike. I've caught some decent sized fish on them and have never thought the rod would break. Good rod. Light weight able to fish all day long with no problems. There is one problem I ran i to. The butt of the rod isn't long enough for me. It doesn't fit on the forearm well, causing more pressure while fighting the fish...

Happy with my purchase. Pole looks to be well made and just installed my new reel on it and can’t wait to take it fishing. Like using Ugly Stik rods. Never had a problem. Would buy from this seller again.

The best all around wade fishing rod on medium light. I have the 7’6 these new gx2 rods are a major improvement over the old ones. It’s tough for it handle the sometime rough environment of wade and bank fishing. It you want a very sensitive rod they are better ones this is about average sentive from most manufacturers witch I like

bought (2) 7'6" ML 1 pc rods for trolling crankbaits. Arrived in 2 separate boxes for some reason, but in perfect condition. Very happy with purchase, I like these rods better then the 2 bps prodigy 8'6" M 1 pc rods I have. And they're less expensive. Ugly Stick rods are great rods, they are not as lightweight and sensitive as 100% graphite rods but they are tuff. For trolling or bait fishing they cant be beat. These are more sensitive then the older models though. While still maintaining a pretty flexible tip which I wanted to be able to see crankbaits working.

I own about 8 of the Ugly Stick fishing rods and all are top notch quality made fishing rods .

Fishing for ground fish in the north Pacific, I wanted a shorter light rod my young grandsons could use. This should fill the bill perfectly!

This casting rod is not as shown it comes with a 10" straight handle when in fact the image shown is a 5" one handed gun grip/pistol grip for someone with a disability the use of one hand its important to shop for what suits this doesn't .the rod itself is great I've used ugly sticks before well made .

I like the sensitivity
