Sturdy rack, quality hardware, easy assembly, wish it were taller
I've had some painful product assemblies in my life, but this was NOT one of them. Clear instructions, beautiful packaging, easy one-man assembly. I attached a picture of the freshly opened box (already unwrapped the backboard) to show the beautiful hardware pack: EVERY product should have hardware packaged and labelled like this— it's so easy to assemble, and even easier if you have 13 and 17mm sockets with a ratchet wrench. (The instructions call for adjustable wrenches, but use ratchets if you have them) Although this is made for indoor use, I set mine up outside. I prefer outdoor workouts and the rack is fairly tall. Keep in mind that for pull-ups you need at least another foot beyond the height of the rack (and even more if you want to power-up), so just squeezing it under a ceiling is no good. I've placed it on a patio I'm rebuilding, and it's partially under a roof here. The tower is much more rigid than I expected for having so many bolts. All hardware is nylock-style fasteners, so it takes some effort to tighten and that's another reason to use ratchet spanners. I'm very happy with the quality of the tubes and hardware, and I experienced no problems at all assembling this. If you get one, follow the instructions very carefully as much of the hardware is similar with just tiny (but important) differences. I've used a number of similar racks, and this one is as good as any with one criticism: I wish it were taller. I'm not quite 5'8" and I can stand with feet flat while grabbing the pull-up bar. With a taller bar, I could hang legs straight and point my feet down, but with this one I'm forced to bend my knees. Not a huge deal, but still a minor disappointment. The pull-up bar has a nice range of possible grips. The assembled rack is not as heavy as it looks, and although it's sturdy I can pick the whole thing up and move it without dragging it. It's critical to have the floor level for dips or the rack will wobble. I'm considering anchoring this to the ground when my patio is done so that I can eliminate any wobble. The pullup bar is slightly padded and perfect diameter, same as the dip bar handles although I generally prefer those fatter. After you've done a couple hundred dips your palms can get very sore on skinny handles. Overall I'm very happy with this rack.

The best power tower on Amazon IF you don't follow the instructions.
I'm over 200lbs, so I need a power tower that is sturdy. Just looking at the size of the steel tube construction and the item weight, it's clear that this power tower is much more solid than the competitors. When I initially set mine up, it seemed like it would work better with my space if I turned the pull up bar around to access it from the front. So, I took off the top 1/4, turned it 180 degrees and bolted it back on. That worked out great, but there was still one other problem. It was wobbly when I did dips because the dip handles were directly above (maybe even 1/2" past) the edge of the base. So, I lied it on its side, took the base tubes off and turned them around too. Now the push up bars are also on the same side as the dip and pull up bars. I did that because the base bars are about 4" longer on the push up bar side. Now the base extends past the dip bars and the whole thing is much more stable. As a bonus, all the stations can be accessed from one side. That means the other side can be backed against a wall taking up less space. (here's a picture so you can see the changes.) The positives of this are, sturdy construction and easy to modify to suit your space. The main downside is that you'll have to be creative to get the most out of it. Also, the pull up bar and dip handles are fairly small diameter, so they aren't easy to grip and hurt your hands if you don't wear gloves. (Can you guess the solution to that problem?... Gloves!)

Rock solid, but ours was not entirely straight.
First let me say that this Power Tower is a beast! Fairly easy to assemble and solid as a rock when it's all together. It took about an hour to assemble and I did it myself. The caveat is that it's fairly heavy and bulky, so be sure to assemble it near where you plan to use it, or you'll need someone to help you transport it to its final destination. It takes up more space than you would think. While it IS fairly narrow, you need to allow for close to a full body length on the pushup side of the unit and enough room on the other side for legs to clear wall space on a leg lift. The box it came in was pretty beat up, and actually had a rather large hole in it. But nothing was missing, so all's well that ends well. I would have given the unit 5 stars but had to deduct a point for three things. 1) The bends on the upper arms aren't exactly the same on the Tower we received. This results in the chinning bar itself not being fully parallel to the floor (or more noticeably - the ceiling). I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I notice these things. My kids, for whom this was purchased, haven't noticed. 2) There are four hexagonal holes that I found didn't really do what they were assigned to do. The hex heads on the bolts that mate with these holes didn't line up well so, the heads didn't exactly slip into the shaped gap. In the end, I tightened everything up snugly, so it's somewhat academic, but I feel the designers should have used the same system they used at the other points on the unit. Shaped washers or plates. Maybe my unit had these holes stamped out at less than the ideal location on the lower upright. Again, no one in our family but me will notice this but it's a minor flaw. 3) The plastic caps that cover the bolts that hold the chinning bar in place were so tight that one of them cracked while being persuaded into place with a rubber mallet. (the instructions call for this tool). My son DID notice this, but it isn't worth the hassle to try to get a replacement cap. To sum things up: Great exercise equipment, solidly made, will last a life time. I would have "loved" it if it hadn't had the minor flaws noted above.

Great product! Very impressed, great price. I can't put anything together ever but this was straight forward. It is 7 feet tall however I was able to assemble it within 2 hours by myself and I'm 5'3. Great quality couldn't be happier. Make sure you have the room for it because it is tall but it's not to wide, which I like. Happy customer

I have used this weider power tower for a few weeks now and I can say this is a great peice of equipment, and I would definitely reccomend this. I managed to put it together by myself in no time, it could not have been anymore than 90 min. The only difficulty I found doing it by myself was keeping it square while i tightened up a the nuts, but using a square helped a lot and another person would have made it a breeze. Also when putting this together that the coating scratches off fairly easy when using sharp edged wrenches if it touches at all. This 'power tower' has the slightest of wobble, but when you put your weight on it the whole thing is solid and the wobble is gone. While using the dip bar side of the structure it was very solid and comfortable and never felt like it would tip. The pullup bar side I haven't had any troubles with balance while using it, however if you stand out and pull at all it definitely moves so do your best to be strict in your form and probably try not to horse around. Overall I really enjoy this peice of equipment and I'm definitely happy with my purchase.
