Hawk Lapel Mic with Quick Release Adapter for Motorola APX6000 APX7000 XPR Radio (Black Tube)

The part that connects to the radio is cheap and not will made. It cut out, left my mic open, failed to receive and transmit. Luckily I one I had one I had previously ordered the is much better made that has no issues so far. The rest of the system works well.

This is my second time purchasing this from Amazon. That's only because I bought one for my husband. I have been using this brand for 15 years but have bought from the company directly. I love it. It takes some getting use to because it's so much smaller than the standard mic that comes with the radios. I like the quick release because it makes it easier when having to go to the bathroom. Attaching it isn't a problem either as long as you are careful and don't try to jam the pins into the connector. I slowly rotate it until it lines up and then push it in. The first time I purchased one I drew a line on both pieces so I could line it up that way. The ear molds that come with it suck as well as any after market ones you can purchase. They always hurt my ear after a few hours of wear or it makes it hard to hear out of that ear. I went to a hearing aid place and they molded an ear piece for me and I have been using the same one for 11 years now. I added a picture of the one my husband took off his tactile vest. It still works btw.

This should come with a variety of earpieces as the medium that is provided is too small. Any suggestions where to get a smaller earpiece?

I am very happy with this product. It has made my life so much easier. As a female who has to wear a uniform sometimes for over 12 hours, this is a blessing. The quick connect works great and it is easy for on and off the radio. It even has an arrow to show you were to connect it so it does not get damage. I recommend it 100 percent.

This product came used. It was already dirty straight out of the package. Some of the packaging wasn’t even secure. For almost $100 I want my product new. I’ve only had the product for less than a week. I had to replace the screw that attaches the clip to the radio because the one that was provided was garbage. I plan on using this product 5 days a week and I hope it will last. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I will not be purchasing this again. I work in law enforcement and I need something that is tough and guaranteed to work every time.

This product is not perfect, however, it is a 5 star for me. The downsides have been decreased over the years by adding connection alignment, a stronger connection to the mic, and uv resistant tubing. However, the cord is still thin compared to the shoulder mics that are for sale. If you are comfortable with the cord lasting 1-2 years knowing that all other aspects are superior, this product will work for you.

Overall good product but clip that holds the mic on your shirt has changed and does not sit flush on uniform. It sticks out a lot. I’ve bought this item 3 times in the last 6 years. I returned this item. Please change the clip back to what it used to be.

This is a 100% must have for law enforcement. I have used this device for more than four years and have only had to replace the connection piece that attaches to your radio, and that replacement was an upgrade to the ptt button adapter. For my use as a patrol officer in a very busy metro city, rain, cold, hot hot summers, foot chases, special events and details this device has not failed me at all. I am reading other reviews here and I will beg to imagine they are simply ordering the wrong connection pieces for their radios because my experience over the years has been awesome!
