What is the shaft length ( the length of the straight portion from the tip to the first bend?

Approximately 6-inches or 15-centimeters, measuring the 5/32nd wrench.

are the ends chamfered?

Not chamfered as far as I can tell. I have been using for about a year anon problems at all. Because of the length, they are a little springy, but that'd to be expected, given the extreme access they afford.
