As someone well into their senior years but who has been a voracious reader for more than 7 decades my interests have been wide and varied, from the literature classics to the of the martial arts and combat fitness. This is why while I was browsing on Amazon when I came across this 231-page soft cover book (The making of a Navy SEAL: My story of surviving the toughest challenge and training covers the best by Brandon Webb with a forward by Marcus Luttrell) I had to purchase it. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of reading numerous books on anything to do with the U.S. NAVY SEALS. This excellent book covers the experiences of Brandon Webb and the brutal but necessary training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL. The material in this book covers the following areas: “Born ready for action, boot camp training, becoming a Navy SEAL, one of the America’s deadly snipers, duty calls and continuing to protect and defend.” If you love reading about the kind of rugged training, it takes to earn the Navy SEAL designation this is a book you will want to read. Excellent! Must read if you are looking for an inside story of becoming a Navy SEAL.

Excellent read. I always knew Navy SEALs must have to endure a lot to get through their training, but I had no idea! I like that what the reader learns from Webb is applicable to any sphere of life that requires a commitment to excellence. I bought this for myself, but after reading it in one sitting I plan to pass it on to my 14-year-old nephew because it has so many valuable lessons. To all the reviewers who are rating this book down because of its similarity to The Red Circle, please note that the description clearly says that The Making of a Navy SEAL is essentially a young readers edition of that book!
