Fiskars IsoCore Pickaxe Mattock with Shock Absorbing Handle, 1.5 lb

I have bought "similar" tools for 1/4 the price. But having just seen n used this, no comparison or complaints. The weight, heft n quality is just superb. It is actually maybe bit too heavy, but u could use it two handed. It actual feels like a full size pick. U hit something with it anf it gets pummeled. Plus u get unlimited full lifetime guarantee (as long as u owner) U ain't going wrong with this tool (even if u pay twice what I did). I will just say, if u need and use a compact pick then get this. If u might possibly need a mini pick (not compact) then just get cheapy cheap ones.

Great quality. 1 star knocked off because the plastic cover for the end you're not using perished almost immediately. I'm using it to 'dig' out clumps of bamboo root balls.

Very well made as expected from fiskars. I’d suggest this is suited to very strong users as it feels too heavy for one handed use but handle too small for two handed use. Certainly got some heft to it but can’t see using this one handed for long due to getting tired. Also closer to the work so eye protection or face shield needed. Overall I prefer my little mattock that’s half the weight and my 5lb mattock that can be used with both arms and keeps the work at ‘arms length’ so safer in use. Looks nice though! PS The WEIGHT. Listed as 1.5lbs. That’s the head weight alone as is common when listing mattocks and picks. Total or true weight including handle more like 2.6lbs and that’s a big difference so don’t be fooled by the 1.5lbs headline weight.
