Great Book.

Illustrated Ben Hur: 2 Volumes in One. Every single page in this special version of Ben Hur is embellished with a pen-and-ink illustration, which though not exactly representative of the book’s characters and events, is a beautiful study of the culture, with artifacts, buildings, people, and a few grayscale photo plates giving an immersive experience in the time and place of the novel. Thanks to the wealth of graphics and the small-block format for the sensibly-sized text, the book is impressively thick and hefty at 850+ pages. I like that, but anyone looking for a compact version, take note, this is not the version for you.The only slight drawback I would mention is the dark illustratIons tend to show through the pages, and since the book has over 800 illustrations, the visual effect of many spreads can be a bit messy from the obvious see-through effect.
