1000 Flags: Banners and Ensigns

Very colorful and informative book, some minor errors but a fine book nonetheless. Well worth the money.

There are many flag books but this one stands out for three reasons. It includes many regional and organization flags not seen in many other books. Secondly, it shows how flags changed throughout history in many countries and regions. Thirdly, it shows how many flags are similar in their designs and share similar symbols. I highly recommend this book for any flag enthusiast, and even for novices learning about flags.

When I saw this while trying to find a good flag book. And when I saw the reviews I thought that they were over hyping it but nonetheless I bought it. And I don't regret it. So if you like flags and want to buy a book for it then this is the book for you!

The book is great. It shows tons of information and is well written. The book just has some wrong flags like the Pitcairn Islands (Shown on 3rd picture), it used the flag of The Holy Roman Empire, but all in all book is amazing.

Das Buch bringt einen schönen Überblick über die Flaggen dieser Welt. Es werden die Farben, Formen und Figuren auf den Flaggen, sowie die Flaggen verschiedenen Organisationen, Völker und Minderheiten besprochen. Für einige Länder gibt es historische Informationen zur Flaggengeschichte. Und genau hier liegt die Masse der Fehler. Die Übersicht der Flaggen von 1900 enthält zwei Länder, die es noch nicht gab: Australien und Panama. Definitiv falsch sind mindestens diese Flaggen: USA, UK, Deutschland, Portugal, China, Russland, Österreich-Ungarn, Schweiz und Guatemala.
