Soft, warm.
Worked as I need it to. I would still throw a thinner neck gator on under it.

Great for the price
Not a lot to say about this item that has not been said in the other reviews. It is very warm, it is a decent fit, its a little snug getting over my melon however it does go without a fight. Mine also has the strong chemical oily smell, but one washing after trying it on and the smell is gone. To the people that have the smell try sitting it in a bag with a box of baking soda, or coffee beans, or try a different detergent when washing.I'm not in the snow or the cold by any means, so that should be noted, but I am bald and the back of my neck gets cold, so I tried this to remedy it around the house and for home wearing its fine, Outside if its not freezing its gonna look a little awkward where I live. Only con I have with it is it picks up loose hairs very easy.

Nice and warm, but..............
This neck warmer is really soft and keeps me nice and warm. It's plenty long so that you can tuck the bottom down inside your coat and still be able to pull it up over your nose and ears. I also like that it can be used with any type of hat. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is because of the initial chemical smell. It was so strong that I couldn't stand to use it at first. It took a few wash cycles and airing it out for a while before I could really use it. The price on this was pretty good, and overall I'm happy with it now that the smell is gone.

Surprisingly good item, and I like it a lot.
Not a big fan of Rothco products, as I haven't had much luck with them in the past. I didn't even realize this was a Rothco product until after I ordered it, and it was already on it's way. However I received this today and I'll have to say this item is pretty good. I'm a very tall and large person and this is big enough to cover my neck adequately while still being able to pull it up over my chin, nose, and up over the lower half of my ears, which is pretty nice. Coupled with a wool stocking cap this should keep your whole head pretty warm on the coldest of winter days. Decent thickness for warmth, and the coyote color is spot on. It doesn't appear to be windproof or anything like that, (which is fine with me), but still a pretty decent product I must say. It's a keeper.

Nice comfortable neck gaiter
I ordered this to use while riding a motorcycle. Reading a lot of the reviews of various neck warmer/gaiters I was concerned about getting one that would fit. I am 6'2" and about 225#, and have a large neck. I am about a 19" neck in a man's dress shirt size. It looked like many of the neck warmers would be too small/tight to comfortably wear. This Rothco looked promising. The item I received was as described. Soft and medium weight fleece, with a drawstring on one end and a folded-over and sewn finished edge at the other. The style of fleece is smoother rather than rough, almost micfo-fleece-like in texture. In a nice touch the drawstring end has a spring-clasp for drawstring length adjustment, and the clasp is attached to the body of the gaiter by a small cloth flap that is sewn-on. This keeps the drawstring end from flapping in the wind. Nice. And, best of all, it fits me nicely. Not too snug, but not too much excess material to bunch-up in the collar area. I wear textile riding gear (Olympia, Tourmaster etc) and this unit works well with the collars on the jackets. So, if you are a larger-necked person, but not giant-necked, this should work well for you.Oh, it is holding up pretty well. The fleece is not shedding or wearing into little pill-rolls like some cheaper materials do.

Not as good as I hoped.
To start with the product arrived reeking of something that smelled like diesel fuel and considering that it is something designed to be worn over the mouth and nose this clearly wasn't expected. I finally got the stench out after running it through three loads of laundry, soaking it in oxy-clean, and then running through the laundry again.Secondly, I bought this to keep my face warm when out running in sub-freezing weather. While it is decently warm, it doesn't stay up over the face very well when running and when it does, the moisture from my breath soaks it pretty quick. I even tried it while just walking and had the same result in only a little longer time.It will probably be useful when I'm out in the cold for long periods of low-activity so for just $7 I'll keep it, but I'll be looking for something else to run with.

very much like pictured.
It is the same size as pictured which means that you can tuck it down into your coat easily and still pull it up over your nose when you want to. It is thick but still allows some airflow - especially for people with smaller heads because they are one size fits all - so sometimes when skiing I will wrap another thinner one around my neck too to stop a draft but usually this neck warmer is enough to keep my chin and cheeks from getting cold - and I can even say that after the winter we just had here in the midwest. My 10 year old boys prefer the cheaper thinner ones that we have because this one is too bulky and long for them but I grab this one every time.
