Yes, It is safe. Great products and company! You can e-mail Seachem with any questions and they answer every one! Still not sure just ask Seachem. I use their products and have asked them many questions.

Q: Does it have any aloe vera

No. This is not a water conditioning product. This product is supposed to add bacteria to the tank water to prevent new tank syndrome. It works well. Until I started using it I lost a lot of fish. Now I don’t loose fish and have even had multiple fish species breed successfully including angel fish.

Q: For this product to work, do I have to turn off the UV light (algae control)?

UV (algae light) kill bacteria. Since you are trying to establish “good” bacteria, it makes sense to turn off the UV light when dosing. I dose mine at night when the lights are off in the aquarium. This gives the beneficial bacteria time to establish itself.
