(The original Crisis is a close second.) The meshing of these series, the recreating of a more modern JSA, with the original members as mentors, is just wonderful. I love Alex Ross’ artwork, the way he paints, makes everything come to life. Dale Eaglesham’s art is great! This series will make this old school (I’m a Golden & Silver age) guy a ‘new’ fan of comics again! Kudos to this team & DC for publishing this fantastic piece ow work. The story lines kept my interest throughout the series. Can’t wait to see more on this series. Thanks! liverpooloflife (Gordon) Review: An excellent adaption of the DC Universe - An excellent adaption of the DC Universe. Great storyline and plenty of action. You definitely don't want to put the book down.

THY KINGDOM COME will be a favorite
This volume completes the carefully crafted story They Kingdom Come, a follow-up of sorts of the Kingdom Come blockbuster by Waid and Ross. Johns is a master at story-telling, and his long-running fan favorite Justice Society explains why: he understands his characters and their motivations, and is a master and moving stories forward in both plot and sub-plot. He provides the reader with three-dimensional characters and conflicts. You can read the story summary elsewhere. It;s always exciting to see a team fight within itself, heroes battling heroes, but Johns does it here not for a stereotypical misunderstanding but based on philosophical differences that make the reader wonder whether the "wrong" side is really all that wrong. That's good storytelling. The bonus in all this is the cleverly interspersed Alex Ross art and Kingdom Come tie-in. Well not so much of a bonus as it is an integral part of the storyline, but it is handled well and gives fans of Kingdom Come a chance to revisit a favorite time and place, and connects it to the current reality. It's interesting to read the three star reviews from others, and I am left wondering what they would consider a five-star story. If any comic story ever earned a five star-rating, it's this epic.

Superman from a dead Earth joins forces with the JSA to battle Gog, a being of seemingly miraculous abilities who promises a new life for all, but at a terrible cost. For what Gog has given, Gog can equally take away. Wonderful artwork, which makes Superman from Earth-22 truly look tired and old, combines with an excellent and moral plot which begs readers to reevaluate their own self worth after reflecting not on what they have done but rather focus on what they can do.

I read the original story years ago and loved it but felt it was half finished. These three books have finished that arc thank you
