Meerschaum Pipes- Mini Hand Finished Claw Holding Bowl (Colors May Vary)

This review is two-fold first, the little pipe is well made with exquisite details in design (beautiful). Secondly, the experience that I had with the seller is none other than superb. The initial shipment didn’t make it without damage however, the package had a letter enclosed with detailed instructions on who and how to contact the seller. Upon contacting the seller to inform them of the damage I received a return call within 1 hour to discuss the matter. A replacement pipe was immediately sent and received in two days. This time it was packaged in a small box to prevent damage (not a bubble wrap envelope as originally shipped). This seller demonstrates their commitment to ensuring that the customer has the best shopping experience (as it should be). I would not hesitate to shop with them again and recommend them to anyone desiring exceptional service.

A little small.

This pipe smokes really nicely and burns cool in comparison to the wood pipes I have tried. The carving is surprisingly detailed and smooth in spite of the small price tag, and the stone has already began to go golden on mine. As for the size, it is a miniature pipe as listed, but it isn't so small that it looks silly. The bowl is still generous in size even though the pipe is mini. It is similar in diameter to the bowls of full-sized pipes; it's just shallower, and the bowl is surrounded by less stone. One thing I would say is specify what color plastic you would like. I luckily got black, but I forgot to specify and I was so nervous I was going to get some wonky color like bright turquoise, which would have taken away from the elegance of the carving. I would say that this is a good starter pipe because it is burns cool and it's small enough that you can get accustomed to pipe smoking without committing to a large bowl. It's also got a nice starter price without feeling cheap. If you are thinking of taking up pipe smoking but you are low on funds, you should begin with this pipe. Even with the price of tools, cleaners, a case, and tobacco, it's possible to spend less than $30 on the full starter kit while still having a nice pipe.

I bought this as a gift for my boss, because 1) he occassionally smokes 1/2 a bowl of tobacco and 2) I can't afford a full-size Meersham with an amber stem. He was floored, and thought I spent way more than I did (in other words, the value of this far surpasses its cost!) It is small - only about 3" or so from stem to the end of the bowl - but the details are excellent, it's got a decent size bowl for someone that just wants to puff for about 10 minutes or so and not have "cooked" tobacco sitting in their pipe to smoke in the future.

I purchased several of these little wonders. They smoked just fine, so I thought I had stumbled across a real bargain. Unfortunately, all 3 cracked and fell apart within a week. Really not worth bothering with (sadly).

It's real Meerschaum. Despite it being a mini pipe, it's a surprisingly cool draw, with the exception of while you're lighting it. It's very cool looking and has a deceptively large bowl. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a cheap pipe. It looks very cool and works very well. I have had no troubles with cleaning, it has a straight line so you can use any pipe cleaner you have.

The title says it all. This is a very small pipe. Thats the inly reason I give it a 4 instead of a 5. Although it is great for a 5-10min smoke if u r short on time. It looks awesome though. Great craftsmanship and it smokes very nice. For the price u just cant beat it!

This pipe is beautifully crafted, but if you intend to smoke for more than a few weeks, then don't buy it. The joint between the stem and the bowl is incredibly weak plastic. It's designed to both pull off, and then unscrew. One week after buying it, while smoking, the stem felt a little wobbly, so I tried to tighten it up a little bit, and the plastic joint snapped clean in half. Part was left in the stem, and part was screwed into the bowl. I was twisting counter clockwise, so as not to strip the threads, but it was stuck into the stem and bowl so tight that the joint just snapped. The stone is fragile, and will break easily if dropped even once from about four feet. Definitely a nice looking pipe, but in actual use, it falls short.
