This sharpening stone must soak in water for fifteen minutes. The sharpening stone is easy to use on lawn mower blades, hedge trimmers, and shovels, due to its size. A coarse side for very dull blades, and a finer grit for a well-sharpened edge. Easy to carry, fine leather pouch is included; this outfit does a remarkable job of sharpening quickly, too!

I used it at first only rinsing it under water. It didn’t get wet enough. I found out you need to soak it in water for 5 minutes before using it. The stone grit has two sides a rough grit and a smoother grit along with a bevel on the side to help you hold your knife edge up against it. It works as you make circular patterns one way and then the other way. It is a nice sharpener and is easy to use. I like it has a case to keep it good condition. I would recommend this to keep your knives and wood chisels sharp!

Good quality sharpening puck and leather pouch. Easy to sharpen axe with. Also, very portable and fits nicely inside of backpack with Fiskars X7 hatchet.

Great simple sharpening stone for my Gransfors Hatchet. My hatchet was in desperate need of a good reshaping/sharpening and this stone took care of it in a couple of minutes. I am curious to see how much life I will get out of it.

Well what can I say, it is actually easy to use, it seems to be a decent quality. It works really well and removes Knicks and burs in the blade with some ease. It's got a great sharpening ability and once use learn to properly hold it and use it it becomes quick and easy to use.

I like it better than all my other pucks! I am not sure if it’s just the slightly different grits than other pucks, or if it’s the angle of the edges of the puck that make my large hands grasp it easier, but it’s just better. I have many axes/hatchets and this got them shaving sharp after some fine tuning and a quick strop. Plus as a bonus, you get a decently made holster for it! Don’t bother looking elsewhere, this is the one!

I'm no professional knife sharpener. I just like an ax that's ready to chop some wood. This is a great tool for that job. It's sized right to be comfortable in my hand during use. The two sides have substantially different grit levels for rough or fine sharpening. I haven't cleaned it yet, but it seems like that will be easily done as with any other sharpening stone. The pouch quality is good but it's not real leather. It feels durable and should actually be more waterproof than actual leather. The pouch will never see any signicant wear and tear, so I'm not concerned about this. It does exactly what I want it to.

This leather carry case works great for my Lansky puck sharpener. This product came with a complimentary sharpening stone as well, but that's best used as a paperweight. After sharpening a single tool the 180 grit side had started flaking off the entire surface leaving it INCREDIBLY rough. I didn't want to damage the tool so I started on the 320 side which thankfully stayed smooth, though it did erode at an alarming rate. By time it was done the stone was deeply grooved, and after each pass of the blade I had to wipe off a thick later of sharpening grit. I've used my lansky puck sharpener many times and it works just like new to this day. For any of your sharpening needs the lansky puck is worth the money 100%. If you need a leather case for that stone this is a suitable product, otherwise take your money elsewhere.
