You don’t need a screen with any glass piece. Just break off a small bit of broccoli, squish it flat and drop it down so it covers the hole. Pack as usual after that

Does it have a smooth or harsh kinda hit?

Very smooth. A gentler hit than a large one. Surprisingly, this, for me, is the ideal bong. It is simple, effective and easy to clean. I put some hot water in plus a teaspoon of SchmandWeg. This gets it sparkling clean every time. In the past I've large complex bongs, these are generally only slightly better than simpler ones and are impossible to keep clean. I would unreservedly recommend this.
