Works great! All functions properly
The material is a lightweight plastic, not metal. It doesn’t have a nice, heavy weight that I’d like, but some people prefer featherweight so to each their own. As for the use of the pens, switching out different colors is very seamless and the inks write just as smoothly. Since it didn’t come with any instructions, I had to look up a few things like how to replace the pencil lead and how to dispense the pencil lead. After watching a video reviewing this pen, it showed that you have to depress the clip repeatedly in order for the pencil lead to come out. I have included a video in how to use for your reference. Enjoy!

Medicine Just got sexier
I’m in my last year of medical school and this is hands down the best pen for any medical professional out there. Sleek and perfectly weighted the metal finish gives it a nice feel as well. Cannot recommend this enough!

Just a little too thick
Smooth writing, it almost glides on the paper. Awesome feel on the paper and it never scratches the page as some fine point pens tend to do. Except maybe the green ink... that one for some reason does not feel like the others. Maybe a bad cartridge? The pencil is good too, but you will benefit from buying better-quality lead replacements, the originals tend to break. My only issue is comfort or lack thereof. It is too thick and it hurts the hand after a while. Practical, so I'll still use it, but uncomfortable. I used it constantly for 2 months taking notes in class. So, awesome for flipping to a different color to underline or make additional notes in a different color. Also, the metal part is only the bottom, the top is plastic. Either way, I get a lot of compliments (I have the green one). If only it were a little thinner.

Seems high quality, nice to have 4 colors and pencil available
I really like this pen. Four color pens in general seem to be pretty cheaply made, so I was searching to see if I could find a higher quality one, and found this. It says it is metal, but only part of the body is metal, but still that is more than most. However, even the plastic parts seems better built than the usual throwaway ones you find on these sort of things. And, in addition to the usual four colors of ink, this one has a pencil built in as well for even more convenience. Good product!

Perfect for Hobonichi planners
I have 2 of these now and have been using them for many months. The metal barrel has a nice feel and balance. I like it better than my chubbier Dr Grip multi. Refills are cheap. The metal looks just as good as when I first bought them. I find the barrel size perfect for my medium size hand. It's super light weight and durable-I've dropped them many times without a problem. It's also pretty!

Great Pen
They are almost exactly like the Pure Malt version, except these pens don't have the wood finger grips. This pen and it's campanion pens are unique. The internal pencil and eraser is what's make them unique. These pens are the ONLY pen you need to have. I won't pick up anything else to write with! BIC has made a four color ink pen for a long time. However, it looks like a toy and doesn't have a pencil built in. No self-respecting business person would get caught carrying the BIC pen. The uni Jetstream will be a pen anyone would be proud to carry and show off. One more point, it's called the "metal edition", only the finger grip is made of metal. The upper half is made of plastic! I think some of the users who gave the pen low marks are kind of "cry babies." Most didn't shop very well and paid way to much for the pen to begin with. If you paid more than $16 to $17 for the pen, you paid to much! I've purchased DOZENS of these pens AND the "sister" pen, the "Pure Malt" version for as little as $15 to $16 each! For THOSE prices the pens are a GREAT buy! They do EVERYTHING you'd expect a pen to do, has a pencil and eraser built in and it looks great in your pocket and in your hand! AND, if you leave the pen laying around, when you come back to use it again, it will be gone! See if that happens with a BIC pen or some other single feature pen! Those pens you can't give away! I give these pens to my clients, friends and certain acquaintances, along with my business card. At first they all say they've seen pens like it before, I quickly tell them, "No you haven't!" I show them the wood grip, on the Pure Malt version, the four ink colors, THEN the pencil and eraser. THEN, they admit they've never seen a pen like it before! Just like I told them to begin with! Different colors of the same pen are available from Japan's Amazon store. However, shop carefully. For some reason the shipping charges are outrageous. Sometimes 3 to 4 times the price of ONE pen. NOT a good deal. I've found some vendors charging shipping charges about equal to the price of one pen and the price of the pen is a $1 or $2 LESS than the prices I find from USA sources. So I buy 10 to 12 at a time from Japan. The shipping is typically the same if you buy one pen or 10 pens. When you average the total cost against the number of pens received, I end up paying the $15 to $16 per pen!

One of my favorite pens
This pen is very versatile. I am able to choose between 4 different color pen inks (black, blue, green, and red) AND a mechanical pencil with a small eraser option. The material of the pen does not feel cheap or feel like it will break easily. It is smooth and offers a larger grip which I prefer and has ridges as opposed to a rubber grip. Due to the material, the weight of the pen is heavier than those old white and blue multi color pens. It has some weight to it but isn’t too overbearing. The pen tips are fine and offer a clean thin line. The ink doesn’t bleed or smudge when writing. I’ve had this pen for almost half a year and use it a lot for work. It hasn’t run out of ink yet. I bought ink refills but haven’t had the need to replace it. The only con is that the pen is sensitive meaning when I’m writing and I accidentally touch one of the other pen click mechanisms, it can retract the pen tip that I’m currently using. It only happens once in a while but the pros of this outweighs the only problem I’ve experienced so far. It is very easy to use and the quality is exceptional for the price.

Everything about this pen is incredible except that the refills are proprietary. If that doesn't bother you, then this is worth it, especially this beautiful olive color.

Absolutely delightful. Note ballpoint is 0.5mm and not 0.7mm

Plastic pen X in 1’s especially the bic’s fail at the joint. Thinner lines, and can sometimes feel scratchy, but awesome.
