Perko Original Rectangular Brass Concealed Door Closer

I was a little nervous drilling a 1 inch diameter hole in the side of my front door so I watched a YouTube video first. Was don in an hour and it works great. I did not use the screws that came with it because they looked too small to hold the plates, in my opinon.

Bought this as a replacement for an older (6 years) door closer that had stripped threads and would no longer close properly. The new one is shorter and therefore doesn't have the same travel ( range of door swing) or closing force. Generally a fail and I don't recommend it to anyone.

Installed this door closer on an interior oak french door - works like a charm! Easy to install and discrete. Door was being left open or worse, half open into a busy hallway. Installing this closer solved the problem - no more bumping into open door and the door does what it was intended to do. Let's in light, keeps out the draft when people move in and out of the entry.
