Very good size and overall design
I bought two different bentos, the left "bean shaped one" for myself and the one I'm reviewing for my partner. The only thing I wish mine was a bit bigger, since this UMAMI one is a bit more spaciousand has more extras like the sauce containers and dividers.Overall I would say this bento it's a very good adult size container. You can feat a decent meal no problem. It has a lid for every container and space for cutlery inside the box. It comes with fork, knife, spoon and chopsticks. They also add 2 sauce pots in this pack and they are very handy. The rubber seals in the lids make it leak proof, but I wouldn't trust it having it full of soup sideways (thats just me). It's very easy to clean but sometimes it's annoying having to clean all the lids and dividers.I would say it's pretty sturdy and it will last us a long while and lots of trips from home to work!

Sturdy, elegant and capacious
You can get a lot of food in a small space with this box. I like to use one layer for the main (a rice or pasta dish in my case) and the other for pudding (chocolate-spread sandwich anyone?) Certainly, if you are on a long car journey or want the box for your office lunch, you will get in enough food to keep you happy. BUT, I knock off a star because of that sauce pot. Others have said that it doesn't fit, and they are right. It's not that I actually use the sauce bottle, but I am still knocking off that fifth star because, well, you buy a product like this because you like everything just so. You want perfection. You want to arrange your food neatly in those little compartments and maybe make some beautiful nori rolls. You lovingly wrap the box in the neat elastic band and marvel at the watertight seals of both layers. You stroke your box and whisper sweet nothings to it. But if you can't use the sauce pot and get the lid on properly, you are distraught. If, like me, you solve the problem by pretending that sauce pot was never there, then fine. But if you need the watertight seal AND the sauce pot at the same time, then go ahead and cry. Here's a tissue. You have my deepest sympathy.

Perfect for work
I love this lunchbox, it holds the perfect amount and the moveable dividers give you great flexibility. The two pots that come with it are great for sauces, and the cutlery is fantastic quality. I also love the fact that it's fully airtight, with the little rubber grommets allowing easy release of the lids.Perfect for a work lunchbox, I've been using it for several months now and it's still as good as new.

Gorgeous and really practical
Literally the only downside to this is it's quite big but as it's leakproof with proper silicone seals you don't need to use the bottom half. You can just use the top half and leave the bottom at home and it stays together. Dividers work well, the sauce pots are a good size and good quality. The bamboo was worth the extra money just to have bamboo cutlery with it, really nice to eat off rather than plastic.

LOVE!
Absolutely wonderful bentō!! I love it. The bamboo top makes the product look elegant with a modern touch to a traditional design. But more importantly - easy to clean, 2 removeable dividers, beautiful reusable cutlery and 2 mini pots that fit neatly in either compartment. For those wondering: yes, you can fit 2 sandwhiches in there! Just cut them diagonally. Utensils are wooden and the elastic band holding both together can be used on 2 boxes or just 1. Use the band length-wise along one container if you don't need to carry two.I have ordered more!

Two apparently similar products at very different prices
I have just received this nifty little bento box, which will presumably serve as usefully as any other leak proof bento box. As mentioned by another reviewer, the little sauce tub is too tall to fit inside the box and allow the seal to close properly, which I think is a design flaw, though I suspect I am supposed to purchase a carry bag for everything for an additional tenner. The box over all isn't quite as sturdy as I had anticipated, and the "Bamboo" lid which I had naively expected to be real bamboo is simply simulated plastic. It seems otherwise sound with silicone seals to both compartments and the quality is acceptable, though probably not quite to the price paid.I paid around £25.49, reduced from £29.99 on a special deal. The original Umami Bento box price is quoted on the Amazon web page as £49.99. I am not complaining about any of that. I made a choice on price, it will serve a purpose. and I cannot be faffed to return it.What I am complaining about, is that on returning to the relevant Amazon web page to check out the finer points of the silicone seals, I was today confronted by an advertisement for another leakproof bento box which appears, from all details and photographs, to be exactly the same product sold by a different company for £14.99, although it doesn't include the little sauce pot. There are many reviews and it has been on sale on Amazon since Feb 2017, so it hasn't just made an appearance over the last couple of days. I made a pretty comprehensive search of all bento boxes on the day of my purchase, so why didn't I find it? Perhaps I just didn't see it, but it's not the first time I've had that sort of experience on Amazon. So if you are looking for a leak proof two tier bento box make sure you hunt very carefully, because you could be paying very different prices for what appear to be very similar products.

Perfect!
I love these. I recently bought my 2nd one. These are far better than other brands I've tried. No leaks, microwaveable, nice little sauce cups, packs together nicely. I lost the elastic on my old one and a hair tie works just as well. They upgraded the sauce cups since I bought my old one. The new ones are much better. They fit about a ramekin of sauce. Its nice to have the two sections. It does matter which ones on top (by lid). No issue in the dishwasher on the top rack. Would recommend.

Everything you never knew you wanted in a bento box
I've been fascinated by bento videos for a while and wanted to try making bento for myself. And while I thought about getting a more traditional wood bento box the price was a little steep to make a commitment. The Umami bento box is so neat, and for the price is such a great little bento set to start with. It holds a surprising amount of food -- in the photos above, the bottom tier has 6 oz. teriyaki grilled salmon atop 1 cup of white rice in one section, and 1/2 cup of edamame and half an avocado and a cherry tomato in the other section. Then the top tier is cold snacks -- half an apple, one carrot cut into sticks, a mandarin orange, and the 2 included sauce containers, one for salad dressing, one with Nutella for the apple slices. So, that's my lunch plus both of my snack breaks fitting easily into this compact bento box! What's really great is that instead of packing each snack into a separate, disposable plastic bag, I just put them into the bento box with a divider between them. This box will also fit a silicone muffin cup perfectly, which is useful for items you don't want to mix with other stuff (like kimchi, or cucumber salad).Clean-up is very fast -- the boxes and lids (except for the bamboo top) go right into the top rack of the dishwasher. The only thing I don't like about this kit is the chopsticks that are included in the utensil set. They're too small to hold comfortably. But that's really a non-issue, I can just add full-size chopsticks to my lunch bag instead. The bamboo fork/knife/spoon work fine and look fancy.
