Great product. Bayberry Coast's products are among the best after shave products a man can buy. Before this my experience with after shaves was the stuff you could get at the supermarket--aqua velva, old spice, brut, skin bracer,--you get the drift. Bayberry Coast helped open up my eyes to the fact that there was a world out there of premium shaving products that for the most part you can only get online here on amazon or in specialty shaving websites. This was my first real brush with high end after shave. The only thing I can compare this to in the world of high end after shaves is Captain's Choice (there are 3 captain's choice aftershave bottles in my cabinet). And although Captain's Choice is a very good quality and I use it, I feel the Bayberry Coast gives you a higher quality experience for the money. First of all Bayberry Coast uses all natural ingredients so it's safe for those with allergies or sensitive skin. There is no artificial coloring or scents here. The ingredients list on the bottle reads simple and clearly--the way it should: Alcohol,glycerin, bay, cinammon, clove, allspice, orange, vanilla, purified water.Bay Rum scent is a shaving classic--i think all men have at one time or another put on a bay rum aftershave. Bayberry Coast's spin on the classic is a little bit "sweeter" than the classic bay rum we're all used to but it is still readily identifiable as being bay rum. The bottle is classy and definitely looks good behind the shaving mirror in the medicine cabinet. Barberry Coast's bay rum aftershave splashes on "cold." It is definitely a crisp,cool sensation and a sharp scent that wakes you up in the morning. However, despite the fact that the formula has alcohol you don't feel that painful,excessive "sting" that you do with some of the cheaper drug store after shaves. Not only that but it soothes razor burn on contact!! Bayberry Coast made me realize that aftershave doesn't have to hurt in order to work. After you use it it leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft as a baby for hours--it's almost as if you put on some high quality skin cream on your face. It also firms your skin although it doesn't give you that annoying sense of excessive tightness that you can get from some drug store aftershaves (im looking at you skin bracer) as if someone had just injected botox in your face!! This is truly a man's aftershave.This is definitely meant to be an aftershave first--not a cologne. The Bay Rum scent although pleasant disappears after about 20 minutes or so. This means that if you shave first after waking up, by the time you are ready to walk out the door to get to work you can splash on your favorite daytime cologne and it wont clash with the aftershave. Last, but not least, you get a lot for your money. By saying that i don't just mean the experience of using it, i mean that the physical bottle itself is large. 4 fluid ounces is about the same height as the base of my palm to the middle of my pinky finger. When you open up the bottle you will be pleased to find that it is not a splash bottle with a large opening but rather it has a dropper hole in the middle--ensuring that you cant waste the after shave by accidentally spilling it etc. In order to get a sufficient amount of splash on your face just shake the dropper on your palm--2 or 3 drops should be enough for one side of your face.If you are on the fence regarding this product then please don't be--buy this aftershave immediately--you wont regret it. I also heartily recommend Bayberry coast's Havana aftershave splash and their Lavender after shave cream.

I've been comparing Bay Rum aftershaves looking for that perfect combination of soft warm tropical scent and conditioning. This product really hits the mark in terms of conditioning. Very. very comfortable on the face and leaves skin feeling smooth. Little to no burn. The scent is rather mellow and well rounded, not as spicy as others. No citrus notes, which I kind of miss. Vanilla overtones which I'm not happy about. I'd prefer a spicier, more bracing scent. Good longevity and a little goes a long way. Definitely a contender.

I read a lot of comments about the scent and the scent changing and smelling like Cinnamin or Cloves. But, in my opinion this is a great product. It is very mild and does not a have a long half-life after applied. What I mean by that is:You will not be advertising to everybody in the room that you are wearing aftershave. It is strong when you apply but dissipates quickly. Your woman will still smell it when she gets close...It goes on cool and fresh, I use it even when I don't shave. On a hot day, heading out, put some on and it is refreshing. I notice that it does smell different from time to time, but I am pretty sure that that is due to the soap you might be using. I use strong floral Chinese soap, I just like the way they smell, but depending on which one I used, it does affect the smell of the aftershave.Overall, it is not obnoxious. I can't stand the smell of dudes walking around smelling like axe aftershave or whatever that ingredient is they put in that crap. No one is every going to think you smell bad or it is over the top. Most won't notice, but you will every morning when you apply it.

I have been wet shaving for several years now. I am far from an expert, but I have become a self appointed "Bay Rum" snob. It is by far my favorite scent. To me, it is the ultimate "manly scent" and evokes memories of watching my grandpa and dad shave, and trips to the barber shop when I was younger. I like the warm, bracing burn form a good Bay Rum. I you are thinking of buying this, but aren't a fan of an AS that burns, don't purchase this. While the burn with BC is less than other brands, it still burns.Now, onto this particular AS. As I said, I am a huge fan of Bay Rum, but I have felt for quite some time that it needed a modern boost. Enter Barberry Coast. Ever since they popped up on my Instagram feed (@barberrycoast), In have dying to try this AS. As always, Prime and Amazon ordering was flawless (THANKS! Allen for making this and all your products, Prime eligible!!!!). The bottle is really frigign cool. I love the frosting and the label kicks ass. It was packaged in bubble wrap that was very easy to get into. It has a flow reducer in the mouth.I was initially concerned about the price and the fact that it's a new product (to me). But let me quell your fears. It is 100% worth every penny. It's a nice, big 4 fl ozs and a little goes a very long way, so this should last.This goes on very smooth with just the right amount of warm, bracing burn. It's subtle at first, but then comes on with just enough intensity. I know that's vague, but I don't know how else to word it. The scent. Oh man.. Allen knocked it the hell outta the park... hell, outta the stadium... with this AS. This is EXACTLY what Bay Rum needed. And all it took was the top note of cinnamon. Wow. Perfect. This is a very classic Bay Rum scent with that modern twist. It's not overpowering, but very very subtle. My girlfriend is not a huge Bay Rum fan (THE HORROR!!!!!) but she can not stop sniffing me when I wear this. Like I am when testing out all new ASs, I was a bit more heavy handed when shaving. This AS definitely smoothed out irritation and reduced redness.So, all - in - all, this AS is worth every single penny. So quit reading this and click that "buy" button already...
