This model uses the old style metal pedal. I have used the newer plastic pedal model and was disappointed. I highly recommend the METAL pedal version, especially when used with apple slices as bait. These work great for chipmunk control.

I’m a repeat buyer of these rat traps—unfortunately, thanks to the reality of living near the river and dealing with river rats. That said, these traps have consistently been our go-to solution. They’re inexpensive enough that we can set one up on an empty kitchen trash bag, and once a rat is caught, we just toss the whole thing. I just use a little bit of a squeezable peanut butter on the area where you put the pin in and it has been successful for us. Buying a squeezable peanut butter just makes the whole process. Also easier without getting utensils dirty and sticky.Highly recommend that method—it makes cleanup so much easier. The traps are great quality, super easy to set up, and have been very successful in catching multiple rats in our attic. For anyone dealing with persistent rodent issues, especially in outdoor or waterfront areas, these are a solid choice.

This really works. Husband put peanut butter on it. Then put it in various areas outside. Killed 3 rats. Disgusting!!! He tried to show me them. Told him I don't want to see them just throw them away outside bins.

I thought I had purchased the traps with the yellow plastic pedal. The picture of this product obscures the pedal (although the description I saw after receipt is correct). I bought a dozen each of mouse and rat traps. Mouse traps are great. The metal pedal on the rat traps snaps too easily. So I have a bunch of snapped traps, but rats are doing quite well.

As the title states, these are the good ones. I bought one last year at one of the big box stores and it had a cheap weak spring. These have the heavy duty springs on them. If you want added, kill-efficiency, drive a few brad nails from the bottom up so that when the bar comes down, the victim gets impaled by the nails and cannot get away. (See image) Also, the spring is very strong, so be careful. And I recommend fastening the traps to a piece of plywood or wood as shown. When the trigger ignite the trap, the spring is so powerful the trap goes flying up in the air.

They arrived in a cardboard box and without retail packaging to cut waste and cost. The M200 traps are 3.5” wide X 7” long, easy to setup and use. Traps works well for its intended purpose, durability depends on where the traps are located. They do not last very long when they are out in the elements but will last over a year when it’s under a covered location. Longevity and durability will vary depending on the number of customers they have attracted.

Why waste money on all those new age fancy traps when they perfected the rat trap decades ago. This thing works, just like it always did...and at a fraction of the cost of the others.

I should have read the reviews. Like others I have received one trap when the product is clearly advertised as a pack of 12. Now I am unsure how to proceed as I don't want a return or a replacement - I want the other 11.
