I purchased these Premium Black Sesame Seeds to use in both cooking and baking, and I’ve been really impressed with the quality. The seeds arrived fresh, clean, and well-packaged, with a rich color and a noticeable nutty aroma as soon as I opened the bag. You can tell they’re good quality just by looking at them. Pros: large size helps ensure we don’t run out; tastes similar enough to the TJ original, nobody would know the difference; the garlic and onions are perfectly toasted and reason enough alone to just buy this, already. *chef’s kiss* Con: either I have no idea how to operate a shaker, or the holes in the shaker lid/size of the ingredients, but I have a TERRIBLE time getting a little bit of everything in each shake. It might be because the jar is so freaking full (…so yet another “pro”) I can’t properly jumble the components in a couple shakes, and therefore end up with an over abundance of sesame and poppy seeds (which unlike some of the other reviewers have found to be more than plentiful— seriously, they aren’t skimping on ANYTHING here), and too little salt/garlic/onions. But it’s easy enough to open it and pour some out to mix properly. Small complaint. So small, in fact, I still give this 5 stars.

As is, bland. Toast them and they are good.

This was my first time using these black seeds but I have had so much fun with them. I used them in several appetizers recently. Sometimes mixed with white seeds and other times just the black. They taste good, look amazing, and you can used them in all kinds of ways.

Stumbled upon this product and bought this as a surprise for my kimchi-loving husband. He could not be happier. He sprinkles in on a wide variety of food (pasta, celery with cream cheese, ramen, steak, etc.). It's versatile and really flavorful according to him. I will purchase more of this when he runs low.
